Wish him the best but have to say no. It's very hard to maintain especially when you're so out front with it. His behavior was weird on several occasions, especially at match end with Cardenas. How does that go over with teammates that have no interest or do but not to that degree. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Watching the Parco match, would've it been better for the wrestler if the coaches stepped in and stopped it. He was obviously gutting it out but he was hurting. Is it really in his best, long term, interest to continue?

The Hawkeyes will probably extend their streak of having a wrestler in the finals, but will they have a national champion? Ayala has the best shot although Caliendo showed great improvement and Buchanan has wrestled very well all year. There's tough competition in all the weight classes with the extra covid year and some bad ass older dudes and young studs that have no fear. Will be exciting.

Hamiti said he's improved a lot since transferring and wish he had this coaching sooner. He's a threat for sure.

Have to go with Nebraska and Illinois for their success in the tourney. Iowa and Ohio State didn't have the tourney they wanted or needed. Too many overachieving underclassman to mention, the future looks bright. Too many underachieving long time wrestlers, exceptions being Byrd and Steveson. Both had time off.

Why would it be? Redshirt, medical redshirt, olympic redshirt, covid. There's wrestlers that are far older than he'll be when he's done. Aren't there 24 and 25 year-olds out there?

This is very common in the high school world today. He's a special person who'll do well. Haven't had an NCAA champion in 2 years but they're going to have 2 4-timers starting next year? Right.

The Brands brothers woke up after another Penn State dual loss. We need take downs, we need to escape, we need to ride them out, we need to be like them. Same things they say after tournament. Trouble is, their wrestlers don't seem to get better. Drake, Angelo, and Gabe were very good when they came in, same with the one-and-done transfers. They spent a lot of money and put together a very solid team, but the competition wasn't there. Look what DT has done in a short time after taking over a stale program headed by a legend, and the brothers aren't legends, only in Iowa. Their wrestlers know they're getting better, watch out for Hamiti. No one does less with more. The Hawks will be third to fifth every year as other teams slowly pass them with better coaches. Hawkeye fans deserve better, they just don't realize it.

The real question is, who are they going to bring in from the transfer portal to replace the one and done wrestlers brought in this year? The replacements don't seem to be coming from recruiting. Who do they have their eye on?

The information is entertaining and informative, the mailbag not so much.

Diana Taurasi said last night that she still had a year of eligibility left and may come back to help UCONN win a championship again. Are more glory hounds going to come back like Gable, just for the adulation? It's not for the competition, it's all about the glory. You'll have all the psychophants praise her for her decision and she'll go back to her "glory days" and prevent another person from realizing their dream. Total BS!
