  1. I'm skeptical of the Knox's attorney's Constitutional argument, since this is an administrative body, not a criminal proceeding. So this would then, in my mind, fall to the sportsmanship aspect of the disqualification, and I think Knox loses there, since that's a pretty amorphous thing.
  2. This was actually my first thought on the whole thing, but I was too lazy to look into NJSIAA regulations had definitions for terms in their rules. At these types of tournaments, there aren't "benches" people are all over the gym, though usually teams sit together.
  3. Is this the video from straight on but across the gym, or the video from right at the foot but on an angle?
  4. RIght now I'm looking at doing the draft on Tuesday evening, maybe around 8 or 9 EST. Anyone having an issue with the date or time? As of right now, here's where our league stands: PRIOR PARTICPANTS WHO HAVE CONFIRMED THEY WISH TO PLAY AGAIN Me. @MPhillips @flyingcement @Idaho @nhs67 @MizzouFan01 @lu_alum (thank God) @JVStateChamp @RockLobster @Perry @steamboat_charlie @Truzzcat PRIOR PARTICIPANTS WE ARE WAITING ON @Antitroll2828 @jajensen09 @Gage WAITING LIST @BruceyB @okokzach @scorenomore @killdozer @MM2018 @charmon55 My plan as of now is to start moving waiting list people into the open spots sometime around Conference weekend (I haven't formally decided the date yet). The date payment will be required by before you get bumped will probably be Bracket Release day.
  5. I was rewatching this dual again today (as I may do many times until B1Gs), and have we talked about Teemer getting robbed out of backpoints on his second TD? That was a Peterson and the ref is trying to count neutral danger. Should have been a 7 point move for Teemer.
  6. He wrestles Oklahoma State and Iowa State every year. He's not afraid. He's, IMO, being petty about Schwab leaving, and sees wrestling Iowa as giving benefits to most programs, and doesn't want to give shine to YNI, again because the petty.
  7. Which is fine, I was actually looking at Tuesday, lol.
  8. The video of the other wrestlers was...odd.
  9. https://nypost.com/2025/02/25/us-news/trump-says-us-will-sell-5m-gold-cards-to-foreigners-green-card-privileges-plus/ A plus. No notes. Truly representatives of the common man. What a clown show.
  10. I'm not married to the date. It just has to be done by Tuesday night.
  11. Like if I was the one making the decision? At that point, I'd have them do a private 2 of 3 wrestleoff with a neutral official.
  12. I don't think either will AA, but if Nelson is reasonably healthy, I would pick him as more likely. I'll defer to the coaches, they have more info.
  13. The problem with this logic is that the results of both guys don't back it up.
  14. Not with that attitude.
  15. I would assume zero shot Brands gets an at large if he misses the qualifying spot.
  16. I do not at 174. I think that may have been the thought process at 141, but I think they expect either guy at 174 to qualify.
  17. I agree with this idea. If Nelson had managed to beat Hamiti, i don't believe there's any conversation to have. Now obviously he wasn't particularly close, so there's a conversation to be had.
  18. The amount of wishcasting and stretching some of you have to do to get to your fantasies about Iowa falling off a cliff are insane. As to PK having a higher ceiling than Brands...based on what? I've said this multiple times and in multiple places: They've each been to two NCAA tournaments. Brands took 5th once and went 1-2 once. Kennedy made the bloodround once and made the R16 once. Kennedy has one single bonus point in his two trips, over a clearly injured Phil Conigliaro, Brands has no bonus wins. If you look at the list of their wins, and try to decide who has better wins, it's not even close. Kennedy's best wins, by far, are over Edmond Ruth and Cam Amine (which was reversed at NCAAs). Brands has wins over Dustin Plott (twice), Chris Foca, Peyton Mocco, Edmond Ruth, and Ethan Smith. It's pretty clear that Nelson has had the better career and if reasonably healthy is the better choice.
  19. The idea that Brands was out there just to save the major might hold more water if we hadn't seen Kennedy wrestle Hamiti twice and keep it to a decision both times. It's pretty clear to me they're trying to get as much data about Nelson as they can before they have to decide.
  20. Kennedy has one year of eligibility left. As to this farcical post, first we can let Gabe Arnold speak for himself: The most logical way this played out, to me (and this is without insider info) 1. Gabe, Kennedy, and Brands all want to go 174 in the offseason, and all are healthy. 2. Brands at that point was beating the other two, so Gabe makes the decision early to go up. 3. Kennedy is small for 174, let alone 184 so that's not viable for him. 4. The presumption was Brands and Kennedy would battle it out for 174, but most people thought Brands was the favorite in that match up. 5. Brands gets hurt, so Kennedy can slide in to that spot. Arnold is already up at 184 and doing well. Brands is injured, so he can't be counted on to bump up in that scenario, which would have allowed Arnold to come down and challenged Kennedy. 7. Brands is out for most of the season; Kennedy wrestles well against lesser competition; Gabe does pretty well at 184, but not lights out. 8. Kennedy meets some of the tougher guys, and the results start to dry up; Brands is cleared, and is coming back. Now this is all deductive reasoning, but it all makes sense. And no, I don't think Gabe was placed at 184. I think it's very likely RS freshman Gabe Arnold was struggling to beat a healthy former 5th place finisher at the NCAAs, so he decided to go up (and will come back down next year).
  21. He blew it for potentially dangerous, btw, according to the broadcast. I couldn't see the refs hands to confirm.
