Got it. I know Shumate took a couple bad losses early on in the season, but he seems legit. Must be a room thing. Thanks.

They were both at the Clarion Open this year. Shumate lost to Tompkins 5-3, and Geog went on to beat him 16-5. Geog then beat his other teammate Rogotzke in the finals 10-4.

I know this was a tough Open tourney to start the season, and Shumate seems to have improved over the course of the year. But like the Birden/Gallagher situation at 165, Geog is probably beating him the room.

Geog needs to work on his gas tank, and his consistency would then improve tenfold.

Yup gas tank and getting out on bottom

It’s a good question though, and one that may still be up in the air. Shumate and Birden are nipping at the heels of Geog and Paddy.

If Shumate didn't improve enough to solidify the spot while Geog was injured, it's doubtful he's going  get it now...

Speaking of Paddy, haven't seen him since the beginning of January as well. Just trying to keep him healthy?

Paddy has looked better. 4 loses this year 3 of them to top 10 guys, and they were all in OT. Euton loss a little head scratcher but the Ohio kid came to wrestle against the Buckeyes that night.

Paddy needs to be more aggressive, he is NOT scrambler. His bottom game has improved quite a bit, but like Geog never puts in a solid ride against top guys.

Couldn't this be said about 95% of D1 wrestlers?
