8 of the last 10 years, they have been in the top 10 at NCAAs. If Elam was still there, they'd be top 10 this year. When Smith took over, Missouri was a joke. He is a hall of fame coach and I think he will get things back in order.

I don't disagree that Smith has done an amazing job.  But 8 of last 10 years in the top 10 is a bit misleading when they haven't finished in the top 10 in the last 2 season and appear to be headed toward 3 straight years out of the top 10.

He may get things back in order but they are not trending in the right direction.  Regardless whether he gets them back, it doesn't take away anything Smith/Mizzou have accomplish and he is HOF coach.

Teague Travis takes 1st at the Kent St open wrestling unattached in his first Mizzou Appearance. Walker also got first. Jace Roller WBF of Dylan Raglison of Michigan, former AA.

Looks like Teague wrestled 157lbs...Wonder if that's where he'll fit it the lineup?

That's his natural weight yeah. He cut down to 149 to help his team last year.

@MizzouFan01 why did he wrestle unattached? First semester was over Friday, right?

No clue. Both him and Walker did, Roller was the only attached.

Probably should just let this topic peter out, but I watched the MU-NI match this morning and Kade Moore has a terrible stance.  Legs straight and weight on heals waaay too much.  Hard to defend good shots with that stance, and certainly not getting much power on a shot.  No wonder he has to "gadget wrestle" on defense.

MU sucks on the bottom.  Don't know if its a lack of bottom escape technique, or simply getting beat physically.

Last, Schwab was up and animated in his coaching.  Smith looked like he was taking a nap on the sideline.

Both Edmond and Mendoza at 149 for the Soldier Solute. Travis and Conway at 157. If they were to wrestle, could this be a de facto wrestle off? Still no Sneed. Otherwise Mizzou sends all starters and some backups.

Sneed shouldn't come back until he is 100% healthy, if there is such a thing.

I also noticed this.  A huge difference in the “energy, enthusiasm, & match engagement” coming from the 2 different corners.

The psycho screaming act has gotten tired. I've only seen Cael show emotion one time, when Jordan Oliver and Retherford had a controversial call at the US Open and Cael hit the ref with the challenge block.

Cael threw a chair after J'den beat DT at the WTT. The Mongolian coaches handled a controversial loss better than he did.

Mizzou released their rankings today with Teague at 157. Maybe he's the starter going forward.Screenshot_20260106_155055_Facebook.thumb.jpg.90ef33672cf20bcc2fff9c161c9b3d68.jpg

I don't think it tells us anything. They always publish their Intermat rankings and Intermat chose to rank Travis instead of Conway for whatever reason. Flo still has Conway ranked
