We have 3 guys 21 or younger on the senior team Jax(18),PJ(19),Levi(21) (3-2 5th, 1-1 DNP, 3-0 wrestling for gold)

4 other u20 world champs 1 has another year of u20 eligibility (Marcus(18), Stanich(20), McNelly(20), Rademacher(20)

Guys that have not yet competed this year internationally and or did not win gold at u20's:

Mitchell Messenbrink(22) (u20 champ, u20 silver, u23 bronze Beat David carr once)
Bo Bassett(19) (u20 bronze, Cadet gold)
Ladarion Lockett(19) (u20 5th, u20 silver, Cadet gold)
Will Henckel(19) (u20 silver)
Josh Barr(21) (u20 silver)
Zack ryder(19) (u20 silver, 2x cadet bronze)
Connor Mirasola(20) (u20 bronze u20 5th)
Cole Mirasola(20) (u20 bronze)
Luke Lilledahl(20) (u20 gold, u20 silver, cadet gold, cadet silver)
Ben Keuter(21) (u20 gold, u20 silver)

And there are a bunch of other guys waiting in the wings Miller, James, Raney twins etc... I just think its important to remember that we are probably the best country in the world under 23 and under right now so not to get too down on not winning 8 medals at seniors.

It's going to be a big hill, and following Burroughs and Snyder in particular is a trap from our renaissance generation.

Aughts: " We hope we can get multiple medals!"

Early JB/ Varner: "We are here to win some belts."

Peak: "We are here to win every weight, the team title, and show everyone we are the best beginning to end."

I think we are in really good position. The only gaps, which I would have not predicted 39 months ago, is 97 and 125. I thought Trumble would take a leap after OTT and we don't know how to feel about Brooks at best. And Steveson was HEW. I'm more iffy on 125, but 57-92 is locked down and 97 is going to be a contender through this quad at minimum. Haines is a revelation so far at 79 where I think he is stuck unfortunately. We are solid.

*Jax 3rd and I'll die on this hill

I am hoping uww somehow does what is right but I don't think they will Cary kolat Yas. I agree 97 and 125 are going to be big question marks. I am hopeful Rademacher keeps making strides and that Dreshaun can fill out his frame. Levi does seem like a guy that cannot go up or down but unless KOT has something to say I think he can run that weight for the next 2 quads.

How do we have this much domination on the world stage without eliminating folkstyle.    Especially with kids this young.

Please leave folkstyle alone.  We are fine on the world stage.

Because the focus is on freestyle and not wrestling 100+ matches every year from the age of 5 on. Everyone has realized that 4x folkstyle champs are myeh on the biggest stages domestically and internationally. Even Willie pointed out how devalued high school pinnacle achievement are if you have any semblance of a bigger goal.

Just leave folkstyle alone.  That is all.

Not sure if you're paying attention but the grim reaper is knocking on the door like a Yonger Bastida meme.

For the whole sport.  Yes.  Leave the more popular one alone.     We dominate on the world stage.   0 need to mess with folkstyle.

I think I have one instance where folk hurt a guy and a style entirely that it helps. Starting with where it helps, I actually think Levi is better at free than folk now but he wrestles very similar in both styles just feeds hips and hand fights until guys start breaking down. I think that he has developed that style from maybe not being the best scrambler ever in folk so in order to ensure he does not get in drawn out positions when hes in hes learned to either suck the leg in at all costs or break his opponent with the hand fight first. An example where I think it hurt us was Jax vs Uguev. I am not entirely sure this is the case because Uguev did a good job of keeping the leg but when uguev went for that lefty single or pick and jax threw him by and sat the corner he ended up on the back and under the arms which probably still ends up in a 3 and 2 in folk but still a net positive for jax where as it ended up as just 2 for uguev in free. Now I'm not sure that Jax had a better option there he probably scores that on any other guy in the world uguev is just really good at keeping that leg and working through but just a position that came to mind for me. I think folk is great because colleges are associated with it. If colleges remained associated and it changed to free I think it would still be great.
