your words make this country feel like early Nazi germany.  If this is true (in your mind) You have no reason whatsoever to stay.  You  move your family out as fast as possible.  If you are a PhD level scientist you will find work.  You either believe what you say or you’re not logical and completely nonsensical.   Scientists usually don’t think that way.

I go back and forth on it. For some reason I'm just down on Wisconsin all together. It's probably their a-hole highway patrol.

I don’t live there.  But I visit for work a lot.  So I don’t have great permanent knowledge of the town.  Clean.  Nice looking. Has cool atmosphere if that makes sense.  Compare to Milwaukee.  A lot of great places in Milwaukee…. But also a lot of pretty ghetto areas too.   Seems to me without googling stats that Milwaukee has more awful crime in pockets
