I don't think he ever intended to or cared about it. It was just one of many lies he told to get people to vote for him. 

The thing with Trump is, pretty much his whole life has been privileged. Daddy bought his education, gave him a "job", had people around him so he couldn't mess up too much. He's never really faced any consequences or anything, so to him he's been able to do and say whatever he wants with nothing happening to him. Like bragging about committing sexual assault, making fun of a handicapped person, etc. He assumed saying that would be like any other thing he's said, where he never gets held accountable. Or he could spin it into something else, like how he was an FBI informant all along, and pretend like he never really said it. 

This is different, and partially it's his own doing. He campaigned heavily on and gave tacit approval to wackos who believe that QAnon is real, that he was going after supposed pedophiles and satanists who prey on children, and now that he's obstructing documents that could reveal some truth to who might have been involved in child trafficking and sex abuse, he won't do it. So some of those angry cranks are turning against him.

You can't release files if cases are ongoing for a number of reasons. You don't want to compromise the ongoing cases, victims need protected, etc. There are also various legal hurdles, both state and federal- that protect grand jury testimony, for instance.

Also, the President doesn't get to unilaterally decide to release files. 

Any reasonable person would want to expose child sex traffickers, rapists, pedophiles and their associates.

There certainly were ongoing cases during the Biden administration. From what I can find, the only ongoing legal matter related to those files is the Maxwell appeal to the Supreme Court. 

I don't want the DOJ to compromise cases against these a-holes, but I would like all of the affiliated people exposed as soon as the last case related to those files is finished. 

This is only a political matter because there are sure to be politicians involved on some level. All of them should face the consequences of their actions. ALL OF THEM.

You seek the indictment...and then put your "evidence" out there for all to see versus "if I do as much mental gymnastics as I can I'll convince myself he is guilty and then tell everyone about my delusion". 

What is so funny about this is if there was evidence on Trump and he indeed was a pedo, EVERYONE on these boards would yell lock him up!!  Everyone on these boards have called for the DOJ to release the files!  But what most, thankfully, aren't doing is using blind partisan hate to do flips and turns in their head to convince themselves someone is guilty when there is zero evidence other than the flips and turns in their head.  Produce just ONE piece of evidence that would hold up in court that Trump is guilty...this shouldn't' be that hard to do given you are absolutely adamant he is.

That must be it, none of the lawyers and prosecutors who combed the files for chargeable evidence were men?  Two of the most quoted ‘victims’ at the recent rally were witnesses in the Maxwell trial.  Following their testimony the judge instructed the jury to disregard their testimony as to any evidence of abuse.  One of them claimed that holding hands felt like abuse to her.  I have yet to hear any evidence of kidnapping.  They were said to be recruited by Maxwell or the other girls.  Are the recruits to be viewed as willing?  Are the recruiters going to be held somehow accountable?  Is this the kind of evidence you are hanging your hat on?  That’s driving your rage?
