Yes, what this guy said is reprehensible (and the random pediatrician too while we’re at it).  But no, I don’t particularly care what some random person that no one knows says, on either side of the aisle, unless it’s something that a lot of people are saying. And if a lot of people are saying it that usually includes people that we actually know who they are.

I’m not from the U.S., so maybe I’m missing some context - but from the outside, it still seems like the church has a strong influence in American society. I don’t mean politically, I mean more in terms of shaping people’s everyday values.
