Branch had only wins over three top 8, the #12 seed and an unseeded wrestler.

Brewer also only had 3 top 8 wins, plus a win in the teens and an unseeded win. But he did it twice. However, he did it as a 4 seed and a 13 seed.

Are you thinking Tyler Nauman? He AA'd at 141 in 2010 and 149 in 2012.

Brock Hardy? 2024 NCAAs? He beat 4 guys ranked in the top 8 and took 3rd but is probably remembered more for getting spladled. *sigh

He was too high of a seed at #9 to qualify. Our hero was a #25 seed.

Tariq Wilson was close as well with 3 wins the year when he almost beat Seth Gross in the Semis. Same year as Conel's run, that was a super fun NCAAs.

I was.  But I don’t think he is right and he is to new.  So I’m just memory wise wrong on which low seeded guy that I can’t seem to remember.  And in spirit of the Trivia i’m avoiding looking stuff up
