If we’re talking the word team as in top three placers, PSU has reps at 57, 65, 70, 74, 79, 86, and 92. And that’s not counting Dake and Snyder. Seems good to me.

Got in an argument with psu fans a few years back about this.   A psu dude didn’t show for final x true third because it wasn’t prestigious enough.  That only 1st place mattered.   The expenses and that nonsense weren’t even worth going if you would not win.

The worLd team is just the #1 guy; that wrestler made the team that goes to "worlds." He is the only guy to make the "world team."

Why would the world team be top 3?  Is third place the NCAA champ? 🤣

I've seen PSU fans on multiple forums now claiming that their #2 and #3 guys are "world teamers."  First off, this is just plain wrong.  Secondly, it seems very revisionist on their parts, maybe even a little defeatist?

The top three at each weight are part of the Senior National Team and receive money to train for worlds. That’s why there were true third place matches. The more you know 🌠

Oh, I'm well aware of the NATIONAL team.  My training partner and roommate was on the national team for 10+ years. (but no world teams)  You said WORLD TEAM and this thread (that I started) is about the World Team (not national team).

The more you know...

I thought it was all just the Senior National Team, whether they competed at worlds or not. Now I see that there is a different name for the group that competes.
