this is how the majority of finals matches go. Not an expert - I've just been getting drunk watching this event for the last 12 years and rarely remember anything electric (Quentin Wright vs Killer was JUICY though)

4/5 through match 3 (Byrd / Ayala) - snore.  Finally something happens.

Not good for the sport.

And finally, excitement in OT. Ayala OOB many times to evade being scored on.  No calls, again and again.  And finally a stall and a point … lots of activity from Ayala then.  
 

I’m liking the freestyle idea of no tie after a couple minutes.

Agree, I’m coming around to criteria.  It would also save a lot of time at tournaments.
