With NIL money on the table, why aren't more foreign wrestlers competing in NCAA wrestling? Echemendia and Bastida have done just fine for Iowa State. Imagine what a guy like Masanosuke Ono could do.

They only have to wrestle now and get paid for doing just that. If they came here they'd probably take a pay cut, be wrestling a style they don't know very well, and have to at least pretend to go to class. Not worth it.

I believe a visa for a foreign undergraduate student may prevent them from having a job (I realize NIL isn’t exactly employment, but it is income reportable to the IRS) while they are a student in the US.

correct -student visas limit the number of hours a person can work.  of course, many still do it under the table
