Hurt Starocci lost to Thicclay.  Thicclay split with PK last they met at 184lbs.  Thicclay from last year, though?  I take him over PK.

Tough to gauge if PK got better or if the field thinned out because you do not have a lot of common matchups, but he did go from a career 50% bonus rate guy to 90% so I think its fair to say he jumped level similarly to Trent.

of his 2023 to 2024 matchups I could find against pretty good comp he beats Hawks 7-2 and 7-5 in 2023 beat him 12-2 in 2024 and he beat munoz 5-2 in 2023 and 10-2 in 2024.

Well a guy that was 174lbs up until a week before the season (wrestled 79 KG at U23s) was the resounding #2, and it wasn't close.  I think that tells us that the field thinned out tremendously.

Yeah it was definitely top heavy, but the going from a 50 to 90% bonus rate is  reflection of dramatic improvement against the average wrestler at the weight, which probably wasn't as significant a shift  as the lack of title contenders would imply.

Champions don't change weights to avoid people. Neither PK nor CS would move based upon the result of this match.

CS is coming back for 2 reasons:  the money, and a chance at being the first ever 5 time champ.  A loss here could make him think.

its a moot point. He's not gonna run up or down no matter what happens.
