Is it just me, or has mat tape gotten thinner, less sticky, and more expensive over the years?

Which tape have you guys found to be the most durable (long term application in a permanent room) mat tape?

And where have you found to be the best deal?

Thanks in advance!

agree.

a tip to make it stick better.

after you finish a roll, take the last bit of tape off the cardboard. this way the cardboard will slide easy

then... on hands and knees... rub this over the surface of the tape to get the tape flat to the mat ( I smash the roll flatter so its easier to hold).

it sticks for weeks.

we used to use towels and run knees over them, but this works so much better

Replace the tape each season.   Or more often.    I've seen this also and it is a hassle for sure.   Tape is too short so it has to be connected, looks horrible and probably is an issue.   But it is not cheap.
