Gotta say I love this rule.  I think it should apply to more than just true freshmen.

These matches count on their official career record right?

As long as transfers will be unlimited, why have redshirting? Just have 5 years now of doing what you want. Obviously you can't be expected to finish a degree in 4 years anymore.
