The Croatia (Zagreb) Open Ranking Series Tournament

Recommended Posts

Upset of the tournament?

I think that "step out" wasn't a step out. It was one of those "the video didn't provide conclusive evidence" instances. From the other angles, which were admittedly not good ones, it looked like part of Kyle's foot was inbounds.

Can you imagine the noise if Iranians were allowed their vozuvala (sp?) horns?

Another loss for Snyder. This really makes me doubt how he can stack up against Tazhudinov and some of the best at 97kg. I'd think he has a good shot to medal in Paris, but gold is going to be tough.

He's having trouble with the tall ones lately. Isaac Trumble is tall.

Parris shot from way out... gets deep, but doesn't grab a leg.

Called up.

0-0 with 2m33s to go in the first.

Parris in deep on a single, Meshvi breaks his grip and they stand up.  No score still. 1m57s to go in the first.

Meshvi is looking for an arm drag, he keeps isolating Parris' left elbow.

Parris is on the clock, despite taking all three shots of this match.

Meshvi has done nothing this match and Parris has taken six shots now.  Aside for one attempt at a go-behind that nearly worked... Azerbaijan hasn't done squat.

Azerbaijan takes a shot!  Stuffed, near go-behind for Parris.

1-0 still with 2m31s to go.

Red is on the clock now.

They let about ten second tick off that clock when it was whistled dead... surprised that wasn't caught by anybody.

They embrace on the edge with 20s to go... both with locked hands... Azerbaijan attemps to pin himself.  Parris wins 5-2.

Parris needs to work on converting all these shots to Takedowns or to take less of them.  He is hitting like 10% of them.

Nice match by Parris! Bronze for the good guy. On the edge with :30 seconds to go, a step out wouldn't have helped Medishevili, so he went for a suplex. Mason just kept back and landed on top of him.

A step out and a C1 would have, if Parris kept backing up like that.

Nothing yet, Zare holding center and not engaging really.

Masoumi on the clock and a point to Zare with 2m0s to go in the first.  1-0 Zare.

Zare is getting frustrated because he can't get inside on Masoumi.  This is very interesting to watch.

1-0 at the break, Zare is up.

I imagine he is next up on the clock and that would put him down 1-1 on criteria.

These guys are both being mean to each other.  They must not like each other, at all.

Pushout Zare.

2-0 2M27S to go.
