Bo has turned heads.  Can’t wait to see what he will do in the UFC.

For a bit it seemed like there was a big pipeline into MMA from college wrestling.  Perhaps I’m out of touch - but seems like the pipeline is low flow / erratic now.

Who are the names we expect to jump to MMA from college wrestling in the next 3 or so years?

There is simply more money in wrestling than there used to be.  More opportunities to succeed fiscally and still.be able to not get your brains bashed in.

I’m sure I’m missing some but recently in addition to Bo there is Bryce Meredith, Mitch McKee, and Cassar who as far as I can tell all appear to have some promise.

As far as guys “expected” to go to MMA, I think RBY and Austin O’Connor are a couple more.

I used to box,  and it's like I've said since rasslers first started going into MMA, it's easy to say,  "I'm going MMA," but once they start taking some big shots they either quickly learn that (1) this hurts and I don't want it or (2) they can't take a punch and have glass jaws.

With that said,  I've always said that until these guys have been punched by pro boxers, they haven't been punched.  Those boys know how to throw leather.  With what few punches he threw,  Downey may have been the poorest puncher I've ever seen.

Scratch that...Askren is.
