The next few look really tough.

Hildebrandt has the Mongolian who beat her in the semis last year

Maroulis has Sakuri who beat her in the finals last year

Gray will be pulling for Japan over a very athletic Cuban.

Mongol here with a helluva underhook and Hildebrandt with a MEAN wizzer here.

Completely different body styles here.  Mongol is built like the Japanese girl that tanked Gray earlier.  Very stout.

It's kinda comical the difference!

Hildebrandt on the clock... gets taken down then turned.  Mongol working for a pin.

Mongol with two turns.

Called to their feet with 60S remaining.  Hildebrandt is down 7-1.

I don't think she has the horses to come back.

30S and down 7-1... Hildebrandt with a TD to make it 7-3.

Back to their feet with 13S remaining.

Mongol bellies out with ~8 seconds to go to let her get behind.  Hildebrandt loses 7-5.

She beat Hildebrandt 6-2 in the semi-finals last year.  It's a legit match for Sarah.

In the first period, the ref blew his whistle calling passivity on the Mongolian just as Hildebrandt was securing a takedown. That has to be like the other team in a basketball game hitting a bank shot three-pointer as the half-time buzzer goes off. A bad omen.

Hildebrandt neutralized the Mongolian's power in the first period, not so much the second. That second exposure was the real difference. She was knotted up - seemed like she could have looked away and bellied down, but when you're built from al dente spaghetti, it's hard to separate from a meatball.

This lady from Japan is the defending Worlds champ, so... tough out either way.

Another takedown by Japan.  4-0.

Stood back up with 2M11S (131S) in the second.

Let them be down for some 10-13 seconds there.

Japan with another takedown at the one minute mark.  Maroulis down 6-0.

Stood back up with 50S remaining.  Maroulis not really having much for her at this point.  Solid defense.
