Nohkodi seemed to win gold rather comofortably

65 was kind of a mess Kim beat Jalalov and akmataliev (Jalalov is an absolute roller coaster never know what to expect) I think ernies best weight is 70kg at this point. Sujeet beat Kudiev in the finals 10-9 after beating Kiyooka 3-3 his insane 2026 continues but probably Kudievs best full tournament. He notably is 3-0 against Mamedov. This should give confidence in Bo's chances of getting a medal but at the same time there may be 8-10 guys that can also beat him very exciting weight.

Kassimbek should have beat Zare and I think he will soon if not this year next year his rate of improvement needs to be discussed more. Teched by Mocco in u17 finals in 2024. Wins u20's beating Nezhad (the guy that beat Dreshaun) in 2025. He now has a win over Shapriov this year and a 3-3 loss to Zare, he is 19.

Zare isn't even 26! Has he even peaked yet?

Birth certificate says 25 but that hairline has been inching backwards since cadets, the eye test puts him closer to 35!

Kassimbek is amazing. He’s a 28 Olympic gold medal threat

Kiyooka losing makes me sad.

Cant believe Kim beat Javolov and Akmatliev and DNP

Interested your take on Yazdani winning the spot over Azarpira and if you think he will have the same success or better than Azarpira. I was pretty indifferent towards it, but now with Azarpira beating Yoshida and also holding 2 wins over Snyder it seems like on paper he may be the best bet for them given outside of Iran our sample of Yazdani is him getting teched by Buchannan. Now that was his first event at the weight so I am sure he adjusted but something I was pondering.

Zare was not prepared properly since he is aiming to peak at worlds. Kasimbek is very good and will compete for medals but he's not beating Zare, not even in home territory.

Zare beat Kasimbek 7-0 a few months ago as well, when he seemed to be in better shape. But Kasimbek is obviously improving quickly.

do you have any knowledge of if Nezhad vs Zare is at all competitive? Nezhad is one of the best athletes I have seen at heavy in a long time.

Emami beat Zhamalov and Aoyagi. Zhamalov also lost to India he may be over the hill.

Aman beat Han and Zhou beat uulu

Azarpira really ran through the field aside from a 4-3 win over Yashida. If Yazdani is truly better than him he may be getting his third gold at his third weight.

Emami also beat Kaipanov (2024 world champ at 70kg and 2025 asian champ at 74kg). Great run of results for him, but unfortunately he won't be at worlds this year as Amir Yazdani beat Emami twice and got the spot.

I don't know if Zare has ever wrestled Mohammadnezhad but I would guess those matches are not close at all. Nezhad lost to Kasimbek twice at the age level (4-1 both times I think) but those losses have aged well considering how good Kasimbek looks.

Hard to extrapolate from Azarpira to Yazdani. Azarpira is very hot and cold.

I was pretty shell shocked by Yazdani winning after how he looked against Buchanan. Maybe he had to adjust to the size? But Azarpira looked great at Asians, definitely a storyline to follow. I thought Azarpira would’ve won that wrestle off, so I’d say Yazdani is probably still a medal contender and just as good as a rep
