Ha, I am relatively new, and I was using Bob as a thumbs up at first. But recently, I had this same thought, so I switched to the wrestle emoji. I like mixing it in for chaos, so may start that.

I am almost afraid to ask this, but I have never known whether someone using the Bob Dole emoji was a good thing or a bad thing.

I’ve always viewed it as a thumbs up. More recently he showed up here and created a thread of his own and those responding favorably got a Bob dole like from him.

A “Bob Dole” reaction emoji sits in that curious space where symbols stop behaving like simple signals and start revealing the contradictions inside us. It’s neither good nor bad because it isn’t really about Bob Dole at all—it’s about the human impulse to compress irony, sincerity, nostalgia, and absurdity into a single tiny image. In choosing it, a person might be expressing respect, mockery, affection, detachment, or all of these at once, which mirrors the way we rarely feel just one thing at a time. The emoji becomes a mirror: a reminder that people contain multitudes, that our reactions are layered, and that even the most trivial digital gesture can expose the duality at the heart of being human.

I don’t know what Bob Dole means so i avoid it all costs. The pile of crap is pretty self explanatory and comes in handy around here. A lot. I use the wrestling emoji reaction for good stuff. 🤷‍♂️
