Depth? Other than Kennedy, Arnold, and Ferrari battling for two spots, where does Iowa even a NQ type guy that isn't currently starting? They have recruited horribly since their win in 2021 and only have 3 high school recruits that are helping their program. Bob has deep pockets and the financial investment in the Hawkeye's has allowed TnT to bring in enough help to remain very competitive, but that isn't a sustainable model. The AD should be asking themselves why the team with Carver-Hawkeye arena, devoted fans that adore the program, ridiculously large amounts of NIL money, etc. are only landing 1 or 2 big name recruits each year. Guys used to grow up dreaming of wrestling for Iowa, now it seems more and more like an outlier that a top recruit goes there. Iowa fans don't want to admit it, but it's possible that the allure of the gritty, tough, hyper-intense ways of premier Iowa wrestling just might not be what these recruits are looking for.
