Charlie Kirk was not kind. He built a media empire by provoking younger college students and then posting clips of them to the internet so they could be relentlessly mocked by his followers. He was a political provocateur. You can agree with his mission and his views, but he was not "kind." However, being unkind is not a capital crime. He deserved the equal protection under the law that he so famously criticized when it was afforded to black people.

Even knowing how those matches ended up, I still got tensed up watching Andonian trying to figure out if he's pinning or being pinned at any given second! I loved watching his matches and seeing the refs make calls and wave them off constantly because it looked like he was taken down and then boom, quick switch up. Bryce's matches with Ed Scott at NCSU were the ones that got my 8 year old son to fall in love with wrestling...plus Bryce gave him a huge high five at the ACC Championships and that just sealed the deal!

I almost added the Israel angle as one of my possibilities but decided not to because some of that speculation is simple antisemitism. However, as you noted, Kirk has recently backed away from his Israel support. This was posted a month ago. I don't think this is what happened. Makes less sense to me than the other possibilities, but it would not be totally out of character for Israel to do. They were certainly very quick (and coordinated) in their message making his death about them. Who knows?
