  1. Past hour
  2. the only way Black kids can learn is if they rub elbows with white kids
  3. There's no doubt it's happening, I just believe it harms the economy more than it helps it. It's barely worth it to work for lots of people so why would they.
  4. The top 20% pay more than 87% of all taxes yet they say the rich don’t pay their fair share. Every time I ask what is “fair” they won’t touch it like it’s a hot grenade. 130%. 170%. What’s fair?
  5. “Poor kids are just as smart as white kids.”
  6. 55% of us are already paying federal income taxes to support the other 45%. Id say that’s redistribution
  7. I agree 100% they however would say Just to be fair if you pin a guy you only get 4 points and they get 2. That’s their mentality.
  8. Not true. There is no evidence of that.
  9. I'll never understand how the mentality of a wrestler could every yield a liberal. The whole bust you're ass and earn it mentality was meant to prepare us for life
  10. Integrated society. Some redistribution is necessary. Otherwise, money stops circulating and middle class gets destroyed.
  11. Are there bad teachers? Yep. Just like there are a few bad cops. Teachers aren’t the problem. The problem is the dept of education, unions and parenting.
  12. Dems don’t believe rich people creating jobs is serving their fellow man.
  13. And: Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man
  14. As the great Walter Williams said: But let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?
  15. Then cap the tax $ we give the schools. And you’re correct. These gang kids holistically will never get better. The parents don’t give a shit. They haven’t since the 60s or 70s. I think 1 in 3 have a father in the picture. Maybe less. They’re in gangs at a young age. The adults are on drugs. Key trends Significant spending increase: Between fiscal years 2018 and 2022, instructional and operational spending per student increased by 48% and 52%, respectively.
  16. Nope. Fix issues the best u can but avg test scores in Chicago Public Schools will always suck when all these kids are poor. Gotta accept that. Unless u want to expel all of them for any little problrm. Test scores don't tell you how good a school is. Mostly depends on demographics.
  17. And? You and your punting on fixing issues again. I grew up on the south side of Chicago in a crap neighborhood poor but my parents would not let me out of the house if any grade dipped below a B. End of story. No sports. Nothing.
  18. Could a bigger problem be that 95% of kids in public schools are in poverty, have broken homes, abusive childhoods and come from crime ridden neighborhoods? I've heard that rich kids never attend public schools in Chicago. The avg test score for these groups is always very low, regardless of the teachers.
  19. Today
  20. Why do teachers get coddled. They want to not be reviewed. They want tenure. They get freaking mental health days once a month and days to “clean” their rooms lol. The system is a joke and they are not educating. I’m not for eliminating schools but no one in ctu or democrat leadership admits they suck at educating. They are not working to fix shit. They spend more time telling kids about gender ideology than teaching actual skills required in life.
  21. So eliminate Public Schools in Chicago?
  22. 1 in 5 kids can read at their level. Throwing rocks at books may yield better results
  23. Yeah, that is pretty awful. I am not sure what a solution for that environment would be. I'd imagine that you'd need a radical overhaul of everything--- starting with the career administrators who spent two or fewer years in a classroom and couldn't hack it. Most would be gone, and all are overpaid. A lot of these admins are made up bs political positions. The union probably presents issues too, but that would be difficult to solve. And a lot of the issues start in the home and the environments the kids are raised in.
