TNwrestling

They let a kid wrestle on the team who told other members of his own team he was going to off their parents right in front of them...multiple times. This was AFTER he transferred in because he was kicked off his previous team for antics we all saw on national television. Im not sure morals are very high on the brands recruiting requirements anymore

this is all assuming theyre able to keep their noses clean and out of trouble im betting nah

the boogs is a national treasure

Didn't he win the Nittany Lion open as a senior in hs? At 165?

Tennessee 125- Randy Batten (UTC - 118lb) - 3x NCAA Div 2 national champion before Mocs move to D1 133- Matt Keller (UTC) - Ncaa AA 141- Cody Cleveland (UTC) - Ncaa AA 149- Phillip Simpson (West Point) - 3x AA, 2005 NCAA finalist 157- Jordan Leen (Cornell) - 2008 Ncaa champ 165- Nick Marable (Missouri) - 2x AA 174- open to suggestions... 184- Charles McTorry (Nebraska) - Sr national champ, promising career at UNL but injuries took him out of wrestling 197- Bill Harlow (Oklahoma State -190lb) - 3x ncaa finalist and 1966 NCAA champ 285- Nick Boykin (Ohio State) - Double Fargo champ at Hwt. On the Ohio St roster but primarily wrestles Greco on the World team.

Speaking of Huskers...Paul Donahue did something similar was kicked out of school at unl if i remember correclty.

people and lists are both plural... ...hence i've seen more than one list with jb in the top 10 college wrestlers.

How do people keep making these lists and put Burroughs anywhere near the top 10? This IS for ncaa wrestling right?

This is a list of the greatest college wrestlers....Burroughs lost wrestle offs at 141, wasnt named the starter at 149 til halfway through the year, went 4-4 in duals and 1-2 at ncaa's You dont think jason nolf, zain retheford, bo nickal, alex derringer, ed ruth etc etc had better ncaa careers than jb?

I hope you're right. We've got NHSCA aa's, Fargo AA's, Beast of the East, Poweraide, etc etc AA's in this state who choose to go elsewhere. Maybe it'll change soon. idk.

Recruiting is a big issue. We had a big discussion about it on the TN boards not long ago and Hunter Mason (VA Tech commit)'s father got on and said not one time did they ever reach out to him. He was ranked as high as 7th in the country his senior year, i believe. HIs father went on to say that he DID want to wrestle at UTC and would've gone to school completely free using his fathers GI Bill amongst other in state scholarships, saving UTC a scholarship. But they didn't even bother. And thats the major issue. They look at our best kids here and dont even bother. Heck, our 133 who's our best shot to AA right now, while from TN, transferred in from Clarion. UTC will not get rid of their wrestling program. It's not in any danger whatsoever. And, in my eyes at least, that's kind of the problem. They're ok with mediocrity.

Maybe, Castillo finished 3rd in the SoCon last year but did get freshman of the year so thats a positive. Rocky went 1-2 at NCAA's after coming in ranked 10th. There's just soemthing about wrestling at Chattanooga that drains your chances of getting on the podium at the end of the year.

I live in Tennessee so i'll break down UTC. Heath Eslinger was the coach after Terry left. He was the winningest wrestler in Mocs history, yet never AA'd. Thats the story of Chattanooga. Mediocrity. Or at least it was. After going on a run of winning like 7 or 8 straight SoCon titles now the conference is split between Appy St and Campbell. We're sad. Haven't had a single All-American since 2005. The lone bright spot in the program right now is rising junior 133 Brayden Palmer. He went 2-2 at the NCAA's last year and hopes to improve on that this year. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath.

its certainly a cringy mothers day post, if nothing else

Apology accepted. Its not completely unheard of. That said, as stated earlier, he graduated at 18.

Im sure my sources arent as solid as most on here but i was just told Ben Keuter said he'd only play football and drop wrestling if the Ferraris went there.

negative ghost rider. not even on the same side of the state as the chittums

No there hasn't lol. He graduated at 19 in 2021, which is common, took a grey shirt year, then will be competing this year as a frehsman. Its not that outside the realm of normal. Being from Tennessee i can assure you nobody here has ever "questioned" his age.

A starting spot compared to not having a starting spot....

Mind bottling, you know, like when your mind gets trapped in a bottle.

Its always amazing to me to read these forums and see just how far behind the rest of country Tennessee is. Cleveland is the best team in the state and has been for 25 years. They're better funded than any other team here and it isnt really close. Yet they struggle to do anything nationally. I think the highest they were ranked last year was like 28th nationally. Its mind bottling. Sorry, back to college wrestling talk now.

ISU

Ive heard both stories. He is and has. Im pretty sure the reasoning is because of Ferrari. My guess is Chittum stays there and Ferrari ends up at Rutgers.
