  1. Just following along here because I’m not an expert in any of these areas, but in your experience how does that usually look when a defendant just lets the judge decide? It seems like that wouldn’t end well most of the time, but again I’m in healthcare so not my forte lol.
  2. Guy was super knowledgeable and a great addition to the board. It’ll be a bummer if he never gets around to this board.
  3. Anyone know is a poster by the username Housebuye made it over from the old board? We used to talk ACC wrestling quite a bit and built up a good rapport. He posted pretty frequently over there so I was surprised I haven’t seen him over here once I finally got around to switching over.
  4. Gavin will be a good one for the next couple of years. He’s been doing a weight class shuffle for the past couple years with Clay Lautt at 174/184. Unfortunately, Lautt got hurt this year and couldn’t finish the season and Kane was doing fine at 184. But I do wonder if Kane goes back to 174 next year. I know 184 isn’t a tough cut for him.
  5. New account that joined 23 hours ago with an ultra troll username. I respect it.
  6. Still one of the most impressive feats in wrestling history for me is Dake bumping up to finish off with 4 by stopping Taylor from his chance at 3. It’s not the exact same scenario, but if KOT does that to Starr he will be on similar badass level to Dake (which is rare company).
  7. Not that I need to justify anything, but I edited and put that there about 2 minutes after I originally posted well over 24 hours ago. I was one of the people saying I didn’t mind Spencer MFF’ing out to 6th and I was hopeful he took the podium. Weird behavior to single me out, but it’s the internet so what can ya do.
  8. I’ll refer you back to my first post on the subject…
  9. I’ll throw out one last AOC tidbit. He was only taken down once all year. It was in the ACC championship against Andonian because the ref missed an AOC takedown and Coleman didn’t throw the brick in time for the refs to review it (he threw the brick but the refs said it was too late). If Coleman gets that brick out in time AOC caps off the season as an undefeated national champion that didn’t surround a single takedown on the season. Just dominance (but I also understand 157 wasn’t a loaded weight class this season).
  10. He did pick down and that’s why Kenny was pissed after the match. It was a weird decision in that moment.
  11. And Alirez hates school, but he’s been putting in the work in the classroom every day
  12. Double post deleted
  13. AOC put together a very quiet buzzsaw of a season. I know he won’t win the Hodge, and that’s ok, but he decked dudes all year. His 2023 season was by far my favorite season of a UNC wrestler ever (I was too young to fully understand/enjoy what Jaworsky was doing). This season was better than his 149 title for me because he was up a weight and rebounding from a knee reconstruction.
  14. This is a really good point. I didn’t really think about it that way. We need someone to write a 10,000 page book about the psychology of wrestling. It has to be one of the most unique things in the world with all the levels of wrestling and things that go into greatness.
  15. Well everyone, I generally don’t post much and come here often after the college season ends. I wish all of you and your families health and happiness over the next 8 months and I’ll see you back in November. It’s always a pleasure to interact with everyone here.
  16. And next level self critiques. “What I just did right there won’t get it done on the international stage.” Always loved that mindset and he’s made comments like that a few times. He has a good hunger and outlook. Really hope we get to see the elusive Olympic gold medal around his neck one day.
  17. For a guy who plans to wrestle on the international stage… yeah you certainly don’t want to let that one fly.
  18. Parris. He wrecked everyone this year in a weight with some really good competition. Guy is an animal and had a hell of a year.
  19. I absolutely love Yianni’s mindset. Can’t wait to watch his career continue at the international stage.
  20. Wouldn’t have hurt to throw it, but our angle was bad. Yianni had both of Sasso’s legs. I don’t think it was close honestly.
  21. Credit to Yianni for trying to extend his lead and put on a show, just almost impossible to do against Sasso.
  22. Dake wasn’t feeling that interview. Quint finally got the hint lol
  23. Not that it would’ve mattered, but I can’t believe Alirez didn’t get another stalling in the 3rd… good win for him though and great for (other) UNC.
  24. What else could they be looking at? You guys see it. Make a freaking decision man.
  25. I’m a pretty superstitious person so there was no way I was posting this pre match and jinxing it, but I had a high level of confidence that AOC would beat Haines. It was nothing personal in the slightest to Haines, but AOC is just bigger, stronger, and better from all 3 positions. I sort of alluded to that in my post here above. Haines will have a great career, but I was feeling good when AOC got past Humphrey’s. I did find it interesting most of the board started skewing towards the Haines pick in the other thread. AOC was an absolute buzzsaw all year.
