As much as I would like to blame the NCAA - at some point its up to the different sports to think of a way to be financially independent or else die on the vine
Your list makes me think of a good idea: who are the best transfers at each weight who went from a bigger program to a smaller one. From your list alone you have Noto from NC State to Lock Haven and Quinn Kinner from Ohio State to Rider. Going back in time of course you have Kolat and Marstellar. Evan Wick from Wisconsin to Cal Poly. Who else am I missing
dude are you talking about this board:

I can't find which guys are being mentioned. Any idea who?
transfer portal by weight so far:
125: Evan Tallmadge
133: Connor McGonagle
141: Peyton Moore
149: Sammy Alvarez
157: Jason Kraisser
165: Dean Hamiti
174: nhs67
184: James Lledo
197: MPhillips
285: PJ Casale
If he does, he'll be closer to 141 than 157. The amount of muscle loss when you go through that sort of lack of mobility is extreme. In high school, I came back from a life threatening car crash and being in a wheel chair - mid season and qualified the weight. by the end of the season as I put muscle back on - it was extremely difficult. the weight class was 112 and by conferences they gave us two lbs so it was 114. The night I won conferences and went back home hydrated, and ate a simple meal - I was 130. I nearly killed myself getting back down to 114 for states
I thought I heard that somewhere too, but it doesn't make much sense to me for various reasons.
1) He doesn't have a lot of length to support that sort of bulk up
2) They don't have a 133 lber otherwise and they do have several 141s
Do you envision Will Baysingar ever hitting the starting lineup?
Also I thought Ruzic at 125 is a high enough caliber guy that there was an expectation he may start as a true freshman
Evan Tallmadge - Freshman from Navy enters the portal. He beat Colton Camacho from Pitt pretty handily but then got injured before Christmas and never came back from it. I'm curious if his Naval Academy credits easily transfer elsewhere and whether or not he owes any money or service to the academy in exchange for his one year.
he's been in college for five years - all at Campbell. one was a redshirt and one was a free Covid year. So he has one year remaining. leaving now for a top program like Missouri would be similar to what Olejnik did for his final year at Oklahoma State.
Other than those already announced like McGonagle and the Columbia and Cornell guys, I'm going to predict other portal entrants by weight class and where I think they'll go.
125: Eddie Ventresca from Virginia Tech to Oklahoma
133: Kyle Burwick from Nebraska to North Dakota State
141: Frankie Tal-Shahar from Northwestern to Iowa
149: Zach Redding from Iowa State to Long Island University
157: Clayton Ulrey from Virginia Tech to Rutgers
165: Patrick Kennedy from Iowa to Pittsburgh
174: Alex Facundo from Penn State to Oklahoma State
184: Seth Shumate from Ohio State to Maryland
197: Andy Smith from Virginia Tech to Iowa State
285: Taye Ghadiali from Campbell to Missouri
I'll see you there next year man. Philadelphia 2025 - Saturday night is my 40th birthday. I've already convinced a few others to join me (guys who have very limited understanding of wrestling, but love sports in general and drinking)
