  1. Stanford freshman SLAVA SHAHBAZYAN at 184
  2. I am sure he is an awesome human, and we all know he is a great wrestler, but….he is also the absolute worst wrestler to represent any kind if showcase for wrestling. I would rather watch WNBA.
  3. What does it matter now? Last years freshman class all have 4 years eligibility left whether they wrestled as true freshman or redshirted. The ones that wrestled will go by new rules, the ones that redshirted will use old rules. I think there may be possible some get a medical, so they could choose new rules and get 5 years eligibility left?
  4. Yes only way greyshirt now makes sense is if the kid is graduating early
  5. Yeah unfortunate timing, VT HC Roby kinda alluded to it in his Flo interview. Obviously if they had knew the rule change was coming a bunch more guys would have wrestled, as it stands now all those redshirts have 4 years eligibility left just like they thought, but the guys that wrestled can choose new rule and start the 5 years from last year, so they also have 4 more years left…
  6. Correct, but either way all last years Redshirts only have 4 years left as last year was Yr 1. So all the guys that wrestled as True Freshman will choose new rules leaving them 4 years of eligibility as well.
  7. With 5 for 5, aren’t all these redshirt guys the same as the true freshman who wrestled last year? They all have 4 years left, correct?
  8. They all graduated, they are checking value on the market, Im sure Stanford will get the chance to match the $ on a couple of them. It makes perfect sense. Gotta know what the market value is, hard for Stanford to figure what the kid should get paid without a “market comparison”. Lets say Stanford offers them 100k, but they go out there and get offered 200k…. The kid would have left too much $ on the table. It is what it is nowadays.
  9. Would be great for Stanford to start poaching other peoples kids.... Lord knows they have the alumni $ to do it....
  10. I think they are fine. They both seem to be super respectful kids and killers on the mat.
  11. That’s a fact. Both great kids from what I can see.
  12. 149 4 Kade Brown vs 5 Wynton Denkins should be a good match as well. Best Finals Matchups 1. 125 Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech * vs Nico Provo, Stanford or Vincent Robinson, NC State 2. 149 Koy Buesgens, NC State vs Aden Valencia, Stanford or Collin Gaj, Virginia Tech 3. 197 Angelo Posada, Stanford vs Mac Stout, Pitt 4. 141 Jack Consiglio, Stanford vs Luke Simcox, North Carolina
  13. I thought someone would bring up the more interesting Merrill item. The Dad seems like he disowned the older brother who is at Ok St. It was weird seeing the brothers at CA State couple years ago not even talking to each other, wrestled in back to back matches in the CA State Finals and not a word.
  14. Yes you are right, I missed the part about 97kg. Maybe was just the height/length.
