Of course that many big name coaches being at the Kentucky state tournament was not normal. Couple of observations I thought were kind of funny. Brands (not sure which one), wearing no Iowa gear and a stocking cap pulled down low. Looked like he was embarrassed to be there or didn’t want to be bothered. Taylor playing musical chairs anytime people found where he was. David and Nate Carr with the Kentucky connection talking with everyone and posing for pictures. Old man Manning sat right with the Union County crowd and yucked it up. Stieber also sat with their fans, but not as much interaction. Wish they would have given them a box (which were all open) to watch and talk privately to the kids and parents. But it’s Kentucky and the KHSAA could care less. They just want to make their money, get it over with and move on to Basketball.
Would love to have been a fly on the wall as these coaches were driving to the arena. “Did that sign just say horse park?” “Yup there’s the horses.” “And they are putting mats on a dirt floor?” “Yup, they sure are.”
