    ASU obviously had a tough year losing wrestlers and recruits. However, the 2026 class has started out solid. If they can keep what they have now, do some extra heavy lifting on the 2026 recruiting class, they will be solid. Need to add a transfer or 2 to make up for 2025 recruiting.

    The most disappointing is Yas at 141. Manville, would rather see a win, but it’s his RS couple matches. Forfeiting at home at 133 is embarrassing.

    ASU has put 4 different individuals at the top of the podium in that time frame. Why didn’t they make your list?

    I believe Yas is dealing with injury. McLane would guess the same. Aziz at 184, where is he? Acciardi at 197 missing in action.

    I think Figs is a lifer. If not for him, I think Schultz would have left. This recruiting cycle really hurt. To go a year with crumbs is a big setback.

    At the time, even as how things were going, I thought replacing Zeke with Pendleton to prevent him from leaving was the right move. Pendleton has built something nice in Oregon along with a RTC.

    I think he still has 2 more Olympic cycles of training. So it’s a considerable amount of time. But to answer the question as best I can. His dad is an elite HS coach, so maybe that translates.

    4 years of both Larkins. 4 years of Manville. 3 years of Ruiz. Couple years for Yas. Year for Figs. This next class needs to be elite or Zeke needs to go. i think the community out here is elite. Larkin, Cejudo, Pritts, Molinaro along with Bader and a nice MMA community. Need something to turn the corner. Like a Dake that wants to be that guy that makes history out West.

    It’s a shame the 2025 class fell apart. If ever healthy the team is solid but nowhere close to what is expected. Losing Sunkist and Zahid has hurt. 2026 recruiting off to a decent start. Some top guys on the radar. It’s always seems to be wait a couple years. I think they need to move on from Zeke as head coach.

    To call Figs a wildcard is absurd. He was undefeated in a year they have the nod to Courtney in the postseason. He won the nation championship in his second year. Hodge trophy contention in year 3.

    Losing Pendleton was huge. I thought at the time Zeke should have stepped aside into another role and Pendleton taken over. That hurt.

    Pritts has been in Tempe a long long time. I just can’t see him leaving on his own will ever.

    Outside of Manville and Ruiz (and legacies) they haven’t recruited in years well at all. Can’t get any instate talent to stay. Development seems to be at a standstill throughout the room. Something isn’t working. There’s a lot of money out here in AZ and talent from wrestlers to coaches. Not sure why Zeke can’t seem to put it all together
