Not sure how anyone can think that Rutgers had a good year. Goodale said, "it is all about March" At the national tournament Rutgers was 13th out of 14 Big Ten schools. They finished 36th in the tournament behind schools such as Penn, Little Rock, Navy, Wyoming, Cal Poly, Utah Valley, Oregon State and others. Only 2 Big Ten schools did not have an All American:Michigan State and Rutgers. Two of the last 3 years, Rutgers lacked an All American. Rutgers gets good recruits. They just haven't developed many of them. These facts don't portray a program on the rise.

Columbia just hired Greg Bulsak as an Assistant Coach. Bulsak was an All American at 197 for Rutgers. That's quite a staff at Columbia: Pritzlaff 2- Time National Champ and World Bronze Medalist, Rivera 4-Time All American, World Silver Medalist and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Buxton member of the Hall of Fame who coached 12 national champs and 41 All Americans, and 1-Time All American Bulsak. Over the next few years, it will be interesting to see their recruiting results. Clearly an All Star coaching staff

It is sad what has happened to Rutgers. Ashnault, Pritzlaff, and Rivera are gone. If Buxton also leaves, it will be a big disappointment. The Rutgers head coach is a great salesman and can recruit. But, lost the trust and respect of a number of top coaches and wrestlers. The Rutgers fan base deserves better. It is one of the best fan bases in the country.

That was Jeff Buxton who made the right call. Rivera has two great coaches, Buxton and Donny Pritzlaff. Plus Rivera has a never give up - never quit attitude, A perfect match between great coaching and a wrestlers who is all guts!

Looks like Labriola may be the next Rutgers assistant coach replacing Pritzlaff
