  1. Not sure if those guys can make it, but a few young hammers could. Still, I don't think Norman's gas comes from cutting weight. Looks to me like he puts way too much pressure on himself and it wears him down. I've seen this happen to other wrestlers. Would explain why he kills top notch guys early in the season and then struggled down the stretch.
  2. Heard he was having internal medical issues this season. Hoping the guy gets healthy and can contribute regardless of weight class. Although if he stays at Stanford, not sure he can move up with Knox right there at 133.
  3. Nothing would surprise me anymore when it comes to 20 year olds and large bags of money, but I think this is a stretch. Hope I'm right.
  4. The very young but dangerous Stanford: 125: Nico Provo 133: Tyler Knox 141: Aden Valencia/ Jack Consiglio 149: Aden Valencia/EJ Parco 157: Dan Cardenas 165: Hunter Garvin 174: Lorenzo Norman 184: Tye Monteiro/Luke Duthie 197: Brokton Borrelli/Brook Byers 285: Angelo Posada
  5. He already redshirted. But it remains a mystery why he hasn't wrestled this season and now looks to be missing Vegas as well.
  6. My guess is that they will RS a few of their hammers. Loading up for podium runs in 2025-26 and beyond.
  7. So two incoming heavyweights that are going to duke it out for 4-5 years? Man, the rich get richer. (Unless one of them could actually cut to 197?)
  8. I did not wade through the 10 pages here so apologies if this was covered, but do we know if he'd be academically admissible at a Princetion/Stanford type of school? Guess those would be the next to be eliminated if he isn't....
  9. Stanford has two returning AA's, and a wealth of young guns. Feels like a top 12 team.
  10. Assuming he'll start and not RS, I'll go with Aden Valencia at Stanford.
  11. Valencia is indeed ready to roll out of the gate, but I do agree that he's a 149 pounder, and Abas is likely coming back for another year. RS feels inevitable, but we've seen stranger things. A lot of these freshman hammers coming in for Stanford (Consiglio, Mara, Parco, Guffey, Cholakyan, Han Lindemeyer) I have to think will RS.
  12. Duke and Bakersfield seem to be extremely vulnerable due to indifferent administrations.
  13. Totally hear what you're saying, but not sure I'd judge a coach solely on his worst wrestler ever. Seems to me he still has quite a few redeeming qualities. But yes, maybe it wouldn't take as much money as I'd thought.
  14. What about throwing a bag of money at Nickerson, get him closer to home?
  15. This is a pretty solid lineup. Would be nice if Stanford could pick up a 197/HWT in the portal, esp. if Stemmet is done. They've recovered awfully well for having missed a year of recruiting when the program was tentatively dropped a few years back.
  16. Does Teemer really still have another year left? Holy smokes.
  17. Let's hope those guys don't get poached. That said, does anyone know the future conferences of Bakersfield, Poly, Little Rock, and Oregon State? I mean, time is up. Will they scatter, or will the "Pac 2" somehow grab another team or 2 and somehow remain a legit wrestling conference?
  18. Fair enough. Looks like these two will be going at it for years to come.
  19. Look, Bucky, Shapiro is a great wrestler. He's a future champion for sure. Cardenas beat him twice this year. Let's give a tiny bit of credit, that's all I'm saying. The excuses after every Shapiro loss are just a bit much.
  20. I've had several. If this were a concussion, he (a) wouldn't have continued, and (b) be out of the tournament. He continued the match and continued the tournament. He got beat by the better wrestler.
  21. Or, he just got beat by a super physical wrestler.
  22. He probably tried to sell the university president phony nutrition powder
  23. With Borrelli's reputation and track record there, it just feels like this is Jason Borrelli's job to accept or decline. Everyone else get in line.
  24. No matter how this shakes out, let us celebrate that Peyton Robb is alive, healthy, and thriving. ESPN story yesterday about his ordeal was insane. The kid dodged a bullet of epic proportions. Besides that, this is one heck of an entertaining weight class.
  25. This is inexcusable. How pathetic. And the goddamn music playing during the matches, no scores displayed, and I've still only got one mat.
