    It's actually a print of the map of Paris. Very cool, although I miss the stuffed animals that past games organizers have given to medal winners.

    Lee, Brooks and Maroulis all smartly took end of match penalties in earlier matches today while leading. I think this perspective on late match tactics may be more anecdotal than actual.

    Did Taylor wrestle a single match between the 2023 Worlds and the 2024 Trials? I don't believe so. Too many of our top wrestlers are not wrestling enough, IMO.

    I will agree he should've finished the 2nd TD against BUL. Totally different match if so. Give the BUL credit - he wrestled through the situation very well instead of giving up.

    Brooks beat a reigning bronze medalist and a Japanese wrestler who had previously beat him, Z. Valencia and Myles Amine. Brooks' best days are ahead of him - I think he wins if wrestles in 2028, might even win next year. But, his draw was much tougher than many want to acknowledge and, unfortunately, a late mistake cost in his 3rd bout cost him a chance for gold.

    Brooks sold out on the stalemate. BUL adjusted and Brooks didn't readjust fast enough. (Kind of like Gilman on the Merkle position against Uguev in 2021.) Too may people on this thread are making too much of one sequence to talk about Brooks - a multi-time age group world champ - not doing enough FS. Whatever...

    UWW has made a statement after meeting with IND: https://uww.org/article/uww-statement-lalovic-meets-ioa-president-wfi-paris I actually think the UWW's statement is pretty thoughtful, and awarding medals to a wrestler who misses weight on the 2nd day would incentivize more risk taking. It's not UWW's fault the IOC is limiting UWW weight classes. While grateful that Vinesh knocked out Susaki Vinseh should've wrestled 57 KG.
