I have only seen Ferrari once, but have seen Arnold 6x. Neither one of them shows any great offensive abilities. Arnold goes to SV every match at 1-1. He only beat Rogotzke because the buckeye threw a pretty inadvisable Greco move. You can keep a match close, and look pretty good if you can hide your stalling. But you can’t stall your way thru NCAA’s and contend for a title. Just ask Alex Marinelli.

PSU only has to replace 3 kids, and yes, they are all finalists/champions, but their replacements probably already know who they are. So, not too worried about the portal hurting PSU. And who knows, they might actually pick up somebody.

Let’s see, he lost to a 5th year Sr in the last 20 seconds, and he got caught. Lots of wrestlers get caught all the time, Nickal, Brooks, Lee, ( those 3 only have 10 Natty’s among them). Anybody who was predicting a national championship are as blind as those who foresee a crash and burn. It’s all who wrestles the best in March.

I would pay real money to see Mesenbrink vs Barraclough. I’ve never seen a Penn State practice live.

A couple years ago, Zain Retherford spent about 25 minutes on the mat winning NCAA’s his Jr year. 3 tech’s, a fall, and an md. I would love to see if MM could spend less time winning this year. That might be a good over/under bet.

Bo Nickal was upset by a kid from IU his freshman year (name?). Subsequent matches were never close, but it did give the announcers something to talk about for 4 years. Pretty much the same with Washington.

Where the hell is Iowa, or any school for that matter, getting a half a million dollars to give to one player on one team. This is beyond bizarre.

Endowments usually come from donors. Gatorade using Carter Starocci’s likeness on a bottle isn’t donating to Penn States endowment.

I like KOT, but if you really watched Haines last year, he was a hammer from late January till the end of the year, and didn’t make any mistakes. At best that should be considered an interesting 50-50 weight class

Unless he is looking for a free year of grad school.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I probably am, but I thought NIL money was supposed to come from the sponsors who used the the athletes NIL.
