Jude Swisher looked good in his 8-3 victory over Meyer Shapiro. My takeaway is that Shapiro doesn't have much of a chance of winning the NCAAs against the likes of PJ Duke, Taylor, Larkin and Robideau. He didn't look to have much of a gas tank, and the lack of a tough season of wrestling doesn't bode well for those who think they can go light and then run the gauntlet.

That said, Meyer Shapiro certainly got a great placement in the 157 brackets. If he wins his first two matches, he very well could see Swisher again and a chance for revenge. He DID tech fall Swisher last year in the Ivy League Wrestling Championships. The hammers (PJ Duke, Kaleb Larkin, Robideau, Brandon Cannon, Zerban and Cardenas) are all in the top half of the bracket. The bottom half is a cakewalk by comparison, with Antrell Taylor and a few landmines (Catrabone, Swisher, Webster).

Wrestlestat has Shapiro ranked second at 157 in RPI, behind only Duke.  He has 16 matches, compared to Larkin's 12, Zerban's 17, Cannon's 19, etc.  Of course, he beat Swisher, Larkin, and Webster this year.

Not sure where your lack of a "tough season" comes from.
