Are they better off in 2028 to bump Seidel and Bo up so Campbell can stay in the lineup, or keep them all disn and push Ninninger/Gaj out at 157?

Burton/Church/Miller will have to sort out who goes 174.

That leaves two holes in the lineup at 125 and 184 where they don't have a clear AA threat

Great Question.  IMO, if Seidel can stay at 133 you keep him there. I would be surprised to see Aaron at 33, 2 years from now, he's pretty big, so then Campbell might get back in.  Campbell was a nice surprise but Gaj in the lineup (if he doesn't shirt) should be slightly more valuable. Another good thing is no hole at 125 for next year, Vantresca should be back if he chooses, medical shirt the year Cooper Flynn started as Eddie was out after just the first month of the season if my memory is correct.  Also Desiante is in the mix at 74 and as someone who watches VT, he is a quick guy with good leg attacks, just needs to improve on finishing and a touch on his tank.  Also, I think Melvin comes in as a day one starter at 57, in 27-28 then would eventually go to 65. I am referring to 26-27 year in general, if you are asking 27-28' I think they have a good 25 coming in as well as potentially Keegan Bassett if he chooses to follow his brothers, but he might be 3 years down the road, not certain.

I was talking about 2028 but I guess someone is forced to go 157 in 2027 if Henson goes 149.

If Henson goes 157, then I would expect Bo at 149, and leaves 141 without a strong AA threat if Seidel stays down.

I know they have some good 125s, but I was framing it as having potential AAs and I don't project any recruits at that level true freshman year except a select few.

I'm excited about Virginia Tech. I really like Bo Bassett.

Agree entirely, if that happens I think Seidel goes up to 41.  I hear 33 is pretty legitimate cut for him.  Campbell then stays at 33 and not a sure fire AA by any stretch...he is pretty good and with some work could threaten AA or R12 IMO.

125 - Eddie (medical year)

133 - Seidel if can make weight. If not, Campbell is the starter and Seidel will RS

141 - Bo

149 - Henson: the lineup starts with Caleb choosing his preferred weight (149 or 157). He plans of 65kg for Olympic qualifying, so 149 makes the most sense.

157 - Gaj or Nininger. Gaj could redshirt. Small possibility Caleb chooses

165 - Church / Burton / Nininger: Speculation Nininger has the frame to jump to weights if Gaj is too good to RS at 157

174 - Burton / Desiante: Burton will likely get his choice at either 165 or 174.

184 - Bullock (medical year) / Desiante / Transfer: One month ago, I would have said transfer. Both guys have made strides since ACC season started. Jaxon Smith has been speculated as a possible transfer.

197 - Sasso

HWT - Mullen

Redshirt

 - Freshmen: Rocha and Rozas

 - Unlikely but possible: Seidel and Gaj

Highly unlikely Melvin pulls a Jax. Pencil him at 157/65 in '27/28 season

^^^^^^^ covers the entire thread . Have not heard any reputable talk about straying from this plan after Caleb's freestyle season but I have no reason to doubt Dan-By-Taco so could be plausible. Bo's well within range of 141 depending on Caleb's choice though which I still expect to be 149.

Melvin won't be pulling a Jax but he's going to utilize the RTC as much as possible. Don't expect VT to push him to graduate early with Nininger and Gaj both very capable. (Jax only pulled a "Jax" because Figs didn't pan out let's not forget)
