Greetings All,

Rather than let any old grimy-folk in here, I thought it might be beneficial to get one going here in the OSU portion of the club area...

How do we see it playing out?  There are a lot of ways that it could shake out, but how do we think it will shake out?

I think at 141 it is Hughes if he is healthy.  Does Jamison try to go to 141 again.  I hope not as he is cutting to much weight to get there and I think that explains his weak showings at the NCAAs. I think they redshirt Vega.

If I am right at 141, then 149 is battle between Jamison and Swiderski.  Does loser try to go to 157.

157 is interesting.  We have 3 quality 149 pounders, Jamison, Swiderski, and Travis.  Travis has gone up in past, but I think he is weakest of 3.  Also have top recruit Robideau who is true 157 pounder.

I agree with other weight classes with one possible change. Could Lockett make 157 (wrestled 163 in freestyle this summer).  Then put Facundo at 165, Ryder at 174, and Thompson at 184.  Part of question is how good is Thompson now after poor showing in 2023/4.  All indications are that is not the way things are going to play out.

Another hat to throw in the ring at 141lbs (if Swiderski and Jamison are 149/157 and not going back down to 141) is Carter Young.

He beat Bartlett, albeit in MFS and on the backside at WTT via 10-0 tech.  Before anyone clasps on to that being the backside, the match on the frontside at the Open was 5-3 for Bartlett - so not a blow out.

I think you go who your best two options are in Jamison, Swiderski, and Teague at 149/157 and I wouldn't care if we see all three at some amalgamation of both weights before the new year, so long as they settled it by then so whoever goes 157lbs can settle in to it by conferences.
