Without...belaboring how we got into this...trade war, this week is going to be enormous when it comes to trying to stem the losses it's causing...both to the markets and then invariably to the hard numbers in the Economy.

I would(and have) argued that those two Nations(Japan and South Korea) may be the two most important Nations to get a deal done for no other reason than...we NEED to isolate China.

As of now, Japan, South Korea and China have discussed an alliance. China has approached India about a trade deal while there is some talk the US and the world's 5th largest economy(and among the fastest growing)The timeline given at the moment is Sept of '25 to Early 2026 to form a new trade deal with India.

What COULD be a HUGE step is agreeing to the general principles of a deal and then suspending tariffs on those countries as we iron out the final deal.

Quote

Trade agreements between countries typically take months or even years to work out and often require the parties to navigate through a host of legal, economic and business issues. Still, Republicans said they were encouraged by the indications that Trump is entering into negotiations with other nations.

Trump is seemingly not willing to consider pausing these tariffs, despite GOP pressure from long time allies like Ron Johnson, Chuck Grassley or Kennedy from LA, hopefully they can move in the right direction VERY quickly and again, the outline can change his mind(and I'm guessing if the Dow drops another 1500-2000 points...which is...pretty likely at this point, that could create even more urgency.

I understand the rationale behind going after China, but taking on the ENTIRE WORLD all at once was....inadvisable.  It seemingly opens the door for China to step in and greatly expand their sphere of influence in the region...

If this was JUST China....I'd be...well, I'd think it excessive to go to 54%, but...that'd be understandable.

1-They are our biggest rival.
2-They try and undermine our technology.
3-Currency Manipulation

The most recent example is them paying a member of META for IP when they built ChatCCP(DeepSeek). There's a Whistleblower and...that's...fun right now.

As of now, as I said, even his staunches allies have started to...express frustrations.

Quote

When reporters asked Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, whether he understood the White House’s plan, he responded with a question of his own — “Does anybody?”

Tillis, a key Senator up for re-election in 2026

Quote

"Whose throat do I get to choke if this proves to be wrong?” Republican Sen. Thom Tillis told Greer as he pressed for an answer on which Trump aide to hold accountable when there is an economic downturn.

And THIS is why...it's very difficult to go with blanket tariffs across the board;

Quote

Sen. James Lankford, an Oklahoma Republican, said there is a company in his state that had spent “millions of dollars" moving its parts production from China to Vietnam. But now that Vietnam is facing steep tariffs, the business is unable to move forward with negotiating prices with retailers.

The clock is ticking. Like her or not...Warren is 100% accurate;

Quote

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, said Trump was causing economic chaos with the back-and-forth over tariffs.

“Who makes long term investments based on that?” she said. “Who hires people and trains workers based on the hope that Donald Trump will not change his mind again and again and again?”

We NEED a resolution to this sooner than later. I think a recession is about a given at this point(recessions can be small).

I just...REALLY hope my worst fears are not recognized.

This is just...baffling to me.

Elon Musk and Peter Navarro, thought to be Trump's...primary advisor as it pertains to tariffs has been publicly feuding with Elon Musk.

But Navarro, who became famous when he became the first WH Staffer to go to Prison...he's so confident in his Economic theories, he's had to make up a person to agree or affirm his economic ideologies as...I'm not making this up, they did not exist;

For people who wanted to push Musk out and thought HE was the problem...this is the man who helped craft the tariffs that has set the worlds markets into turmoil and threaten to send the US into a recession(which...we should ALL be hoping they can avoid).

Quote

In 2019, Navarro was busted for repeatedly quoting a Harvard-educated economist in books that did not actually exist.

Out of Navarro's 13 published books, expert Ron Vara has appeared as a voice of economic wisdom in six of them, including in his 2011 book Death By China.

But it wasn't until a professor at the Australian National University did some further investigating that she found out Vara was a made-up alter ego.

In fact, the name Ron Vara is an anagram of Navarro's name.

This is who is working with Trump to craft this AI generated list?

How long until we're thinking we get some resolution on this and how far will the markets fall? I know AVGO and NVDA have approved buybacks through this year, but the next two quarters are going to be...very tough with things as they currently stand and if this IS the new Normal....well...I think you'll see #1 and #2 on this list flip;

I don't find anything on these threads upsetting...well beside people that openly want the US to fail at the same time support terrorist organizations (i.e., Red Vikiing)...but you do humor me with your endless overly wordy posts about the same subject and saying the same thing over and over...all the while calling people immature names unprovoked...and thinking you know more than anyone on here, or heck, you think you know more than world leaders...LOL

But carry on...sorry for interrupting your conversation with yourself
