Overperforming - obviously Penn State so far with a 20-0 record. Though I expect them to take 3 losses in the quarters and a bunch in the semis.

Underperforming - Iowa.  The $1,000,000 NIL duo of Parco and Teemer may only yield 1 team point for Bob.

Usually I'm happy to dance on Iowa's grave but I can't quite bring myself to do it.

I just feel for Teemer and Parco. I have no idea what the full story is but they just seem so physically beat up right now.  Definitely not themselves, and I can't find anything to dislike about either guy.

Take away those two guys, and Iowa's performing about as it's seeded.

You can't blame them for taking Bob's bag.  $500,000 is a lot of money for almost anyone.  But you can't help but wonder if Iowa ground them down to nubs like they did with some other recent grad transfers.

The thought has crossed my mind.  Wouldn't be the first time Iowa ruined a kid by throwing him out there when they should've let him heal up.

I'm just not if the facts bear that out here.  Parco legit hurt his knee last match.  I don't think we can pin that on Iowa.  Teemer... not sure.  Sounds like he's had hamstring and shoulder issues all year. Iowa sat him some, but would he have performed better yesterday if given more time to heal?  Did Brands wrestle him too much, too eager to get bang for their NIL buck, so the donors aren't crabby?  Maybe.

I'll confess to this:  I'm happy to see two guys that Iowa ran out of town -- Chittum (excited due to Ferrari transfer) and Siebricht (exited due to Parco/Teemer transfer) -- still alive at 157, scoring points, while Iowa had none. Nothing against Teemer, who I like, but I always like to see schools punished when they run a loyal homegrown recruit out of town -- and I like to see the aggrieved make good.  Will be cheering for Glazier for the same reason, and also Beard/Barraclaugh (though those were less egregious).

You've already made this post!  Yes, Iowa paid money for wrestlers who are only going to get them 1 point. Yes, PSU is still a giant and went 20-0.  And I will take care of this right now as I am sure at some point you are going to bring up Spencer because you can't seem to keep his name out of your mouth for more than 20 second.  Spencer is not going to coach Iowa anytime soon.

But honestly, has PSU really overperformed?  Yes, going 20-0 is unheard of but isn't their lowest seed an 8 seed and he is right where he belongs.  Now, if he wins today you can say he overperformed but right now, they are all right where they belong.  I would say teams like Nebraska and Lehigh have had really good showings.  So maybe talk about them and stop repeating your posts.

And when you really think about it, how much is Iowa "underperforming"?  Only one guy you mentioned, Parco, has kind of laid an egg but it seems like he is really injured so how much of this is his fault.  Yes Iowa paid money for Teemer BUT he was only an 18 seed and he wasn't supposed to go far anyway according to the seeds.

Cruz - Wasn't supposed to do much and he didn't

Ayala - right where he is supposed to be

Caliendo - Stud and probably walks to a Championship if it wasn't for MM. I am not sure how good Hall is but Caliendo seems to be on a mission this year

Kennedy - Above his seed right now

Arnold - 11 seed so wasn't supposed to win his match last night

Buchanan - taking care of business.  Not sure he can beat AJ but he could win a championship

Kueter - Right where he is supposed to be.

So really, according to seed, right were they are supposed to be.

Lay off of it for just a minute and come up with new threads.

You are correct about taking the bag. But what happened to his knee last night had nothing to do with being ground down. ACLs don't tear because of a heavy workload

i am an idiot on the internet

To me Minnesota has underperformed. Isaiah Salazar is a returning semi finalist and ranked top 10 all year, goes 0-2. Wells and Flynn don’t shoot, if they did they could be round of 12 to top 6.Vombaur was almost teched by Mendez. Sparks went 1-2.

I don’t think any rational/reasonable person can say Chittum was “run out of Iowa” like he was some sort of victim. He was what, 26 when that happened?

Other than Iowa, who is underperforming due to injuries, nobody sticks out to me too much just yet.

Nebraska seems to have carried their Big 10 momentum over into this weekend.

Won't really be able to assess this until after bloodround.

Penn State is likely going to underperform as compared to seeds

You made this thread so you could get around to making this post.

Penn State will win easily. And you really need to find a girlfriend or something. You and your mom need to break up.
