Most of the time, it is not how a coach talks to a wrestler. But sometimes it is. There can be circumstances.

I agree- I’m also  sure Alex Ferguson agrees with you on that and he had the results and the authority to back it up…

I just rewatched amouzad vs sujeet .

Amouzad gassed the last two minutes . I think he should pace himself in the final and be defensive the first period.

I watched that match live, it was a deserved win but I don't think that had anything particularly down to the coaching staff. If for example he beat Uguev then I would be saying that there was exceptional coaching at play which helped him. One thing I did like from him though was that he was just quite disciplined and fought hard. His mentality was really good imo and I think we will hear more from him in the future. The coaching staff made the right choice with selecting him. Ali Momeni and Amir Mohammad Yazdani on the otherhand... the less I say the better.

They didn't select Javan, he simply won all the stages of the trials process.

They selected Yazdani at 70 and it was a disaster. Khalili at least would have gained some experience.

I would say they selected Yazdani ( brought him down from 74  to 70 - result DNP) , Emami ( gave him an extra chance to make the team at the ranking tournament for no reason after losing to Yazdani in the Takhti final - result DNP) and Nokhodi ( Wrestled 0 matches since last worlds - result bronze).

Outside of those 3 wrestlers everyone else made the team on their own merit. The ones they selected underperformed.

IMO if you are going to force someone on the team he absolutely must medal, and maybe even must win a gold.

It depends on how many golds we end up with.  One gold does not cut it for me, two golds is OK, three golds would be great.  I think our coaching lost two us golds in 79, 86 and 92.  If they end up with golds in 65 and 97, let's talk

It all comes down to expectations.  Below is my personal assessment

57 - DNP as expected no positive or negative impact on the coaches

61- Exceeded expectations, positive point for the coaches

65 - If Amouzad wins, positive if not no impact

70 - DNP, Disaster, negative for the coaches

74 - 5th as expected no impact

79 - bronze, negative for the coaches

86 - bronze, major negative to the coaches

92 - bronze, negative for the coaches

97 - silver or gold, if silver, no impact, if gold, positive for the coaches

125 - Automatic gold, no impact on the coaches

If i was voting, if we get two golds tomorrow, great job coaches

If we get one gold, they keep their jobs

if we get two silvers, fire them, Call Trump and see if we can trade Dorostkar and Dabir for DT.  Given Trump's expertise in Art of the Deal, it just might work 🙂

you have to give your coaches credit for getting them to your expectations!

And congratulations on a most powerful team!!
