I put something like that on my phone once.  It was free.  A month or so later it started eating my battery.  When I deleted it, it stopped.

It turns out the reason my wife's phone battery runs down is because she accepts app tracking and notifications even when said apps are not active, and she never shuts down the apps when done.  Swipe and close those apps completely... and a browser extension shouldn't run the battery down.
