Jayden raney wins gold in greco

I believe he and his brother are the only guys to win more than one match. Jordyn goes for bronze tomorrow.

The Raney brothers are a blast to watch.  Always going for the big move, always fearless.  Each now has a Cadet world title in this style, right?  I hope they stick with Greco, as they're a pleasure to watch.  Their style is to high-risk to win consistently in freestyle against the top guys, but it's just so hard to beat in Greco.

selfishly I hope they continue with freestyle because that means we will get to see them at their best in college. A lot of times the good greco guys seem to take a step back in college or forgo it all together. Jordyn will also be competing at 60kg for free and I think he can win the entire thing there as well.

Oh I hope they continues with free and folk too, and definitely not foregoing college.  But eventually they'll reach a point that they need to focus on free or Greco when going for world teams, and I hope they choose Greco.  Our Greco program is kind of in the toilet right now, and they can win at the highest level.  In free, they are very good too, but there will always be 5 or 6 guys at their age/weight just as good as them, whereas in Greco there's a huge drop-off at their weight after the Raneys.

I hope the Raneys stick to Greco at the ILLINI RTC while getting a world class education from the University of ILLINOIS and winning NCAA Championships.

They'll get lots of Greco practice and instruction in that room.

This u17 team could feature a lot of future Illinois boys I think with the Raneys and Munaretto.

Yes and Yes! Fantastic wrestlers, and they are interesting people. True stars in the making. 

Add them to a team that already has three or more years left of Kannon Webster, Braeden Scoles, Logan Swaw, Will Baysingar, Peter Marinopoulos and Colin Kelly, and the ILLINI will win some wrestling matches.
