In a few recent articles and a recent interview with Coach Pendleton on Flo, the Pac-12 will get an automatic allocation waiver for the next season and most likely a second season as well. The champions will automatically qualify and all others go into the at-large pool. Thankfully OSU is wrestling a very good and tough schedule next season to get in a better position for at-large births. Coach Pendleton mentioned that OSU had the opportunity to go to the Big 12 (although he says Pac 12 by accident) but decided to stay and use the two years to build the conference into 8 -10 teams to establish a West coast conference. He also mentions that there are teams that are interested in joining them. As I (and others) have said for a long time - the Pac-12 should be a conference filled with the Western teams.

Conference part starts at 6:40:

Cal Baptist and UVU would be great candidates.

I agree... as would Air Force,  Wyoming and Northern Colorado.

As a wrestling fan who understands geography and travel distances, I agree. As a NDSU fan, I like the idea of giving the PAC-12 just enough teams to qualify as a conference without stripping the Big 12 of too many teams 😆

I think Pac-12 is waiting to see if Tarleton State joins DI (which I think we will find out by Sept) So they would be in by 2025-2026. That would bring them back up to 5.
Pac 12 - Cal Poly, Cal St. Bakersfield, Oregon State, Tarleton State, Little Rock

There has already been talk from former PAC-12 universities that are going to B12, ACC or B1G about joining what ever the new West Coast conference ends up being.  It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Haha... fair enough.  If we take the Western 5 teams it still leaves 8 in the Big 12.  By last years conference tournament, those 5 teams would be 5 of the 6 last teams in points. The other team would be....NSDU. Sorry man.
