    Well, as much as I'm disappointed with steveson's loyalty to wrestling, its not giving him too much credit to say he went back to minny when he could have made more elsewhere. I'm sure he has a lot of gratitude and relationships he wouldnt forsake at minnesota. Don't remember what the former part of your post is alluding to but i'm curious.

    I wouldn't put it this way but I am getting a little of this vibe myself, mostly from how the coaching staff seems to react to him, but bizarrely this might just be wishful thinking on my part.

    Thats not a point. Listen I understand you're glad he's back, you just need to understand I don't care because to me he has no narrative importance, i have no dearth of great wrestling to watch, and he's not a compelling figure to me because he's so self interested. That's just how I feel, its not an insult to you for feeling different.

    i'm not saying steveson won't be more amusing to watch (which doesn't matter because i can always watch better wrestlers than steveson on youtube anyways), I'm saying he has no narrative significance.

    Because he's been a title threat since high school. Its a "rice is white" type of headline, and actually its less than interesting because it takes the last remaining fun out of the HWY title race.

    I don't think he has any significance to NCAA wrestling, if he is gonna continue internationally I'm very happy about it. If he's milking some NIL money before his next vanity project I don't care.

    Didn't look bad to me but who knows how brains work. Any insight into this? Its an odd situation...sort of want to say I hope he's just a drama queen, which is a lot better situation than him being hyper concussion prone and the staff not caring.

    sure but thats not what i'm talking about. I'm not saying Starocci didn't have an opinion, or that the coaches didn't take it into consideration, I'm just saying the staff made the decision, not starocci. They implied otherwise because they like projecting the image of being chill dudes who don't like cutting weight.
