I think Spencer will go for this dual.  If it starts at 133 or 141 and Iowa is up big he won't, but Brands cares a great deal about winning this dual.  I think Murin will handle Johnson just like I think Carr is too fast for Kennedy.

    125- Spencer by fall 6-0

    133- Teske close 9-0

141- The little Metcalf over Woods 9-3

    149 Murin  by 5.  12=3

157 Magic ends for Iowa  12-9

    165 Carr too fast. 12-12

    174- Brands easy 15-12

184 Assad almost but coleman clutch 15-15

    197- Warner is a squeaker 18-15

285- Cass showing seperation and pinning. 24-15

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you offered a bet that the opposite was closer to the team score I would take it.

I have wondered the same about Bouzakis myself might've even posted on themat (RIP) about it.  Bouzakis reminds me a lot of how Grajales was in HS.  Extremely strong and able to bully most of his opponents.  College was a different story for Grajales...We will see.

I'm trying not to be a jerk about it but if you are talking about wrestling its necessary, the problem with Bouzakis in the Crook match wasn't the getting beat, it was the quitting. Bumped up or not thats not supposed to happen.

Brands said in an interview a few weeks ago that Teske wasn't certified at 125, so, if that is true, he can't be going down to 125 lbs.

Plus it doesn't make a lot of sense situationally.

"hey while your competing to win a starting spot at 133, do you mind losing 8 pounds to cover a dual? it will seriously undermine your long term goals but we don't like cyclones!"

"Sure! Can I keep the spot?"

"No its gonna go to Lee without a wrestle off, what do you want us to look like idiots?"

It only makes sense if Lee is done.

What is your reasoning behind him not being that athletic. Everything that I have watched or seen on him shows that he is very good in wrestling positions which include scrambling, flexibility, and strength. In my opinion these would be traits for athletic ability.

i am with you that there are different types of athleticism, in his case after seeing him in High school a significant amount, he really has to wear guys down before the points come. As much as I admire that, even at a high level in high school the points should sometimes come sorta easily to a guy whose gonna track as an NCAA champion.

I went back an forth with a friend about how bouzakis would tranlate, because he wrestled with so much power, and the one time I've seen him this year (he was bumped up so maybe unfair) he didn't look great.

I am not trying to be smug and simplistic with this statement, but everyone in college is strong and in shape, thats not what makes for monster freshmen.

ACL tears do not heal but plenty of folks function without.

sorry, I think the first knee functioned well without and the other didn't for some reason...what i heard, which explains why his status was a mystery till late december last year.

To clarify, did Lee have both knees repaired? I know the first surgery was the beginning of January last year. and it went well. Did he have a second surgery on the other knee? If so, when? I would assume he is fully recovered from the first of the knee surgeries being 11 months out now.

i thought he tore one, never got surgery, it healed, blew the other, wasted a year thinking it would heal similarly, it didn't, then had surgery, upon which we are currently waiting.

Do we have any reason to think he'll go this weekend? especially against an athletic kid like terakina (spelling)? I bet they get him ready as slow as possible, give him some gimme wins like PSU, and he rolls into big tens with like 5 matches...

Trainer? No. Trainers don’t injure people through overuse injuries or poor training methods. They tape them back together again, if possible, and salvage some performance.

Head and associate head coach. That’s who you need to point fingers at when it comes to injuries.

  8. Instead of always talking about how great their medical staff is, I'd go another route and insinuate that they suck all the time. Would help the narrative a lot!

Ex: Instead of saying "We have the best medical staff in the country" say, "No way we get teched at 125 if our trainer hadn't screwed the pooch with Ayala and Lee, sometimes I think the guy is a dam junky!"

Iowa started at the right weight.

A few good duals have been really screwed up by this. I'm sure you remember VT/tOSU, one match dual and it felt like it was over half way thru.
