Would athletes who competed in 2021 and then redshirted still have a fifth year? If so, the COVID year is not quite gone. -
I never understood why COVID resulted in one class getting only three years of post-season eligibility and four classes (or five?) getting five years of post-season eligibility. Why didn't they just give everybody four years?

Penn State has seven guys in the conso semis and three in the finals. Not bad! Imagine having your entire team place sixth or higher!

Davis is better than 99.99% of wrestlers. All these elite wrestlers are.

Three undefeated wrestlers in the heavyweight semis, plus the defending champ, who has only one loss.

Six or seven in the semis. All wrestlers still alive. Seems like a good performance to me.

We need a step out rule. Too many athletes back up to the edge, and in some cases even crawl out of bounds. A step out rule would clean that all up.

There's no reason to not improve folkstyle if it can be improved -- but the question will always be, what reforms would be an improvement?

I enjoy watching freestyle more, yes. Of course, in the 00s it was much worse for fans to watch. Freestyle’s willingness to change the rules so it’s more fan friendly was huge.

Shorter season. Too many athletes are visibly injured. A fix would be a shorter season — which would allow a longer period of less intense training. Step out. Too many athletes are wrestling at the edge. Tiebreakers. It’s not quite as fun to watch when both guys cruise to OT. Stand ups after one minute of riding time. Nobody needs to see more than one minute of that.
