  1. Vito had a loss last year, but he at least wrestled a full season (I think). I seem to remember Gable and Snyder doing abbreviated college seasons.
  2. Dang, Robb got TOSSED
  3. Smh so hard
  4. Agreed. If Fix weighed in at 130 it could mean nothing more than he got a haircut.
  5. Exactly.
  6. Agree with this. I don't know if bumping Arnold up for this dual will make a huge difference. I also don't know if Arnold is enough of a take-one-for-the-team kinda guy to bump up and make room for PK at 174. Or better yet, for PK to get back to 100% and take care of business at 165.
  7. That uncomfortable gulp
  8. Would love to see the dual decided by a CooterNut match at Hwt. Is Brands trying to preserve his RS or something? Just let 'er rip, I say
  9. Yet another shocking detail: the team was eating pizza Great story though, good on ISU.
  10. That's too bad. Starocci-Washington could've been a fun match (but probably not). I like Bartlett's interview above. He always answers thoughtfully and seems like a smart kid. I'm still pulling for Woods but Bartlett might be my favorite PSU guy and I can see why he pulls that NIL spokesman money.
  11. Has Starocci threatened Donnell Washington yet?
  12. It was fine, and really no different from any of Brands' other pressers. You can tell he coaches mostly by gut instinct rather than analysis or strategy. He keeps it simple, but is definitely not a sound bite guy. Nothing wrong with any of that; it's just funny to see his incredulousness to so many questions. Time and again, you can see Brands get visibly frustrated and wonder why reporters think so deeply about things and ask stupid questions, or try to get him to say certain things. And then you have the sports journalists who are obviously afraid of him and walking on eggshells. It's a funny dance to watch.
  13. If the NIL sponsor was smart, language in the deal would be finessed to tie the vroom vrooms to either the school or a specific location, but not the program or team (against NCAA rules). Has it been confirmed that the family was lured to Iowa by an NIL agreement?
  14. He seems to attribute his recent performances to that mysterious foot injury that's been plaguing him. With so little mat time since Tokyo I can see why people speculate that he may be ready to hang it up, though I think he's still pretty young.
  15. Last chance at 57kg could get stacked. 125 and 133 are pretty wide open this season so there might be a pretty decent pool of non-NCAA champs entering.
  16. Grand View? Fernandes can go with him.
  17. That would be surprising. In general, rules banning booze and other substances were not necessary imo because most guys are so keyed in to training all the time, keeping in peak form, and watching their weight that they wouldn't want to touch most substances anyway. But then again there are guys like Randy Lewis who are so damn good that they party and do whatever they want and still win most of the time, lol
  18. Hoping to see Hashnut and Keuter go this week
  19. Ah, got it. I was unaware that they needed both.
  20. I think he also qualifies by being a prior NCAA champion
  21. That sounds right. The general rule has always been "5 years to compete 4 seasons" plus the assorted shirts and pandemic seasons thrown in. I didn't realize he was eligble to ORS this year but he is.
