  1. Vito is so fast he probably believes he can get down there and get to a leg (or two) but what do people expect him to do? Army crawl to get under a deliberate defensive stance for a guy holding on for dear life to a match? We won’t know if it was intentional or not but I don’t feel bad for Fix after the way he wrestled that match.
  2. What? 2x National Championship Jesse Mendez? Returning champion after beating Hardy…transitive property or any basis supports this
  3. Problem is the majority of guys posting a hand are also dropping the knee too…scooting around and trying to look and feel cool doing it. The ones that aren’t know they aren’t quick enough to get the legs back if attacked. Either way in both instances you’re low to the mat and usually not being active. We all know the making it look like you’re doing something when you’re not game…just slowing that guy or buying time for your attack. I get both sides…I’m just fine with guys running through that kind of defensive stand.
  4. On its face (no pun intended) I understand why people don’t like it and how it could seem malicious to a degree. However, you have these guys that are constantly putting a hand on the mat, crawling and staying low to avoid exposure. Fix is on the edge of the mat, hand down, doing everything he can to keep Vito out (insanely fast) and what’s Vito going to do? Not stay aggressive or keep the pace. Fix, and guys using those tactics are in a sense stalling…hard to not let guys get after it.
  5. I think Chittum takes his RS. I don’t think Paddy or Birden drop to 157. My hot take is the addition of Jeremy Ginter was purposeful and he very well may be the best fit…outside of Shaw as a true freshman. Cannon takes the 165 spot.
  6. Bouzakis won the 61 KG bracket going 7-0 (handedly). Mentioned in his interview that he plans to compete for the starting spot at 133lbs. Unfortunately I don’t think he does…Davino is just better at folk style.
  7. Completely forgot about Nick’s redshirt year. He’s not beating Davino (lost to him at Clarion etc) though at 133 and he’s surely not beating Mendez at 141…a solid backup/transfer. Cannon is a worry…that’s a bit of optimism on my part.
  8. My Ohio State lineup prediction: 125 - McCrone 133 - Davino 141 - Mendez 149 - Stiles 157 - Cannon 165 - Gallagher 174 - Kharchla 184 - Fishback 197 - Shumate 285 - Feldman Bouzakis, Chittum and Rogotzke all RS
  9. Still are. Signed, Ohio State Fan
  10. Ben Davino makes the NCAA finals at 133lbs after finishing 2nd in the B1G Tournament.
