I feel like with how advanced scrambling and leg passes have become in neutral, this might take a while for a freestyle specific athlete to understand and be successful either implementing or defending.

Haha we were at a highschool dual last night and there were a bunch of toddlers running around in singlets. I think when you are comfortable with them from a young age, the "weirdness" of a singlet doesn't ever take root. It's the kids thinking about starting wrestling after 5th grade that seem to be hesitant.

Has Bassett ever mentioned forgoing his senior season just to wrestle international/collegiate opens?

Missouri still uses them sometimes. I don't see a problem with teams offering both. I agree with the other posters I dont think this is the main issue about kids not wanting to try the sport, but seems like a pretty simple easy thing to give a choice

Was discussing this dual with some friends and if the cards go UNI's way it can be a pretty interesting dual 125 - Spratley has been on a little slump as of late...upset maybe UNI's way? 133 - Toss up imo 141 - UNI edge 149 - UNI edge 165 - Amine plays with fire and low scoring matches.... 197 - Voelker is tough. If he stays out of Surbers funk (easier said than done) this one could be good

Now that his guys are getting out of competition and into coaching how many different branches of the Brand's Bro's coaching tree are there? Didnt realize Blaze was up at 138lbs. Guys at Flo predicted him to be a 141 in college so I guess that makes sense. Him vs Vega in the finals will be worth the price of admission. Hope to see it!

Never like to see a program hurting like this, but it happens. Looking at results from rider dual, wasn't Nicolar Rivera the WI kid who beat Nate Jesuroga back in HS when he was #1? If I am not mistaken, he hasnt even qualified for NCAA's yet right (0-2 at big tens last year?) Obviously, this was just one win so maybe it was a flash in the pan, but it might point to a lack of development in WI room?
