  1. The University of Nebraska-Omaha was another huge tournament right around Thanksgiving and I missed those Thanksgivings due to cutting weight. I love Thanksgiving now and eat way too much to make up for past missed meals.
  2. Kelly Ward - Iowa State
  3. Three-time Iowa state high school champion David Kjeldgaard was the first national winner of our Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 1996. David, who had a career high school record of 173-4, graduated first and was valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA at Lewis Central Senior High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was an officer in the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes while also serving as an officer for the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. David was Student of the Year in Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, General Chemistry, Physics and Trigonometry and received the National Academy Math and Science Award. Kjeldgaard was a three-time Cadet National Champion and a five-time Junior National Champion. To win his first freestyle title as a junior, he defeated T.J. Williams, who would go on to win two NCAA titles and have a career record of 98-1 for Iowa Wrestling. To capture his second title as a senior, Kjeldgaard defeated future NCAA champion and four-time Top-Three finisher Joe Heskett just to reach the finals, where he triumphed over Cael Sanderson, a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame who went on to be an undefeated four-time NCAA champion, world champion and Olympic gold medalist. Kjeldgaard's career at the University of Oklahoma was hampered and cut short by knee injuries, but he twice qualified for the NCAA tournament and was a Big 12 Conference runner-up in 2000.
  4. Jacob Newby
  5. I thought Minto for Nebraska was consistently good all season.
  6. Ziola is going to RS at Nebraska next season and will wrestle HWT from day 1 on campus.
  7. Cade Ziola - 215lbs National Champ from Omaha who is going to Nebraska to wrestle as a HWT is one to watch. Head will RS this season to pack on weight. Head and ankle picks are legit. Tall frame.
  8. Curious how many were leg laces? I saw a few of them on highlight/recap videos. Get a leg lace going and the match is over.
  9. Pinto won the match putting up 18 points and did not receive a stall call. His gas tank improved as he got used to the cut. Fun to watch Pinto leave it all on the mat.
  10. Lauridsen beat Koehler 7-1 in wrestle offs. I’m not sure if that gap closed over the course of the season.
  11. dream scenario - 149lbs - Lachlan McNeil - UNC HWT - Isaac Trumble - NC State (Nebraska kid).
  12. Sad to see Pinto go. Blood round the last two years. Minto will be wrestling 174lbs IMO next season. Burroughs said Minto had a tough cut to 165lbs and was a short timer at 165lbs. Was hoping to see one more year of Minto, Pinto, Allred and McDaniels.
  13. Kelly Ward bit a guy’s ear off while in a street fight. Hell of a wrestler.
  14. Reese Andy (Wyoming) 3X All-American, 2X finalist.
