  1. He wrestled in Stanford head gear days ago… I sure hope it’s not him. Bright future ahead for Stanford.
  2. Appears ASU is actually using their intrasquad as a wrestle off this year. All notables are wrestling, except Larkin who I believe may be injured. Other notes - Vasquez to 149, Ruiz at 165, and Valencia to 184.
  3. Cholakyan dec Hanson in OT Abas 4-2 Dec over Parco. Other match of note was Guffey vs Norman, but I don’t have a result. Given the depth of their recruiting class I think you’ll see a lot of guys in and out of the lineup.
  4. Believe the match was at 149. I think they plan on mass redshirting this year.
  5. Stanford “wrestled off” most of their young guys today. Aden Valencia dominated Jack Consiglio 13-3.
  6. Stanford hadn’t added true freshman the last I looked.
  7. It’s really not that hard. Evaluate the programs performance over the last 5 or so years. It’s been good. They’ve won two trophies. There’s about a dozen programs that want trophies every year and more often than not they don’t win them, are they failures too?
  8. You had to go back to 2004 to even semi justify your comment. A comment I might add, that was entirely unrelated to original post. I’m sure you have something better to do than substantiate a straw-man argument.
  9. Grad transfers that leave without influence aren’t. Not the case here.
  10. If you’re trolling, you’re doing an excellent job. If you hold Zeke accountable for the first handful of years, I don’t know what to tell you. He is far from perfect, but downplaying a non traditional power that’s finished in the top 10 five out of the last six tournaments is the elitist bullshit that holds this sport back.
  11. I like it. Although it’s disappointing when you figure they had a top 3ish ceiling less than two months ago, this is a fun dual team with a top 10 ceiling. They have Valencia listed at 184, but I really wish they’d just let bulk to 197 and see what happens.
  12. They’ve won two trophy’s in the last 4 years and placed 7th and 6th the other two years.
  13. What does that make the 70ish teams that are worse than them?
  14. Vasquez & Larkin are listed at 149 on the updated roster, which I find interesting.
  15. I think this is a pretty accurate assessment. That said, I think they are among the best in the country when it comes to developing guys offensive styles and attacks. Although it isn’t pretty, guys like Teemer and Figs have styles that really optimize their strengths. As for the top position, if anything they’ve made guys worse. I can count on one hand how many riding time points they’ve scored in close matches during Zeke’s tenure.
  16. Pretty dense statement when the team has had 4-5 AAs every year for the last half decade.
  17. After the departure (poaching) of Parco and Teemer, ASU has a number of ways they can fill out the lineup. My guess? At 141-197 they go Ysaguirre-Vasquez-Larkin-Ruiz-McLane-Aziz-Valencia
  18. Iowa should go get Figueroa next. Might as well just take ASU’s entire roster at this point.
  19. Jacobe Smith? He was an AA not too long ago.
  20. Depends on the plan. I could see them bulking up Valencia and seeing what he has up at 197. He can’t be worse than what they had last year.
  21. Arizona State picks up a 2x NJCAA Champ in Aziz Fayzullaev. U23 Asian champ in ‘22. No idea what he’ll end up being, but interesting nonetheless.
  22. Ugly last couple months for ASU. Bummer. Was nice to have a national level team on the west coast.
  23. Mr. Martori leaving the Devil’s with one final parting gift?? A man can dream
